Here we are again with the Friday Face Off meme created by Books by Proxy . This is a great opportunity to feature some of your favourite book covers. The rules are fairly simple each week, following a predetermined theme (list below) choose a book, compare a couple of the different covers available for that particular book and choose your favourite. Future week’s themes are listed below. This week’s theme:
Car “Drivin’ along in my automobile”:
Today I’ve gone for J K Rowling’s Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Suffice to say that there were a plethora of covers for this one so I tried to restrict myself to those simply with cars on the front:
I really like the bottom two although I think my favourite would have to be:

Do not ask me why but it just gives me a Howl’s Moving Castle vibe! Next week: Aliens!!
Which is your favourite?

For me, the first one
That certainly is proving very popular this week.
Lynn 😀
I love the one you picked, too. I just love illustrated covers, and that one is gorgeous:-)
It is isn’t it!
Lynn 😀
I’m gonna agree with S.C., I like the first one the best. Good choice with The Snow Queen by the way, I have no idea what I’d pick because somehow I can’t think of a single cover with diamonds on it!
Exactly – I can’t believe how hard this one was. I felt convinced there must be a diamond encrusted crown somewhere out there but I simply couldn’t find one!
Lynn 😀
Great choice! And it *must* be chilling, after all, given the subject matter… 😉
Yes – indeed! 😀
This has some really striking covers – I love your winning choice as I think it is chillingly beautiful!
Thanks Jessica – there are some lovely covers to choose from for this one.
Lynn 😀
The one you picked is definitely the one that drew my eye the most!
It’s really eye catching. The others are good but this one just grabbed me!
Lynn 😀
I LOVE your pick! The very first cover is cool just because of the headdress and dress.
There are some lovely covers for this one – which isn’t a surprise as it’s such a classic. The detail in the first is gorgeous.
Lynn 😀
I love the first one because of the details in her clothing and her wide-eyed stare, which makes her seem kinda alien.
It is a lovely cover – and yes, she does look a little alien somehow.
Lynn 😀
Agreed with your choice, I love the artwork there. Glad I was able to join in the fun this week, I almost couldn’t find a book!
I know – I struggled with this one! I felt there must be a crown with jewels on a book cover somewhere but I couldn’t uncover it.
Lynn 😀
Oh for sure, they are definitely diamonds – or they would be dribbling and melting, right? A nice choice. My favourite is The Snow Queen 7, which the blue and white cover, it looks beautiful cool and chilly!
Haha – yes, good point 😀
Yep, I like your choice the best 🙂
I was hoping I would see this one on someone’s page! As I was thinking of covers featuring cars, this was one that came up too. I like your choice as well 🙂
I had a few choices but this was the only one that I’d actually read.
Lynn 😀
I think the one you chose is the nicest, but my favourite is the second one because it’s the edition that I own and first read when I was young! 😀
Yeah, I think you always have a soft spot for the book you own – unless it’s totally hideous that is!
Lynn 😀
