Here we are again with the Friday Face Off meme created by Books by Proxy . This is a great opportunity to feature some of your favourite book covers. The rules are fairly simple each week, following a predetermined theme (list below) choose a book, compare a couple of the different covers available for that particular book and choose your favourite. Future week’s themes are listed below. This week’s theme:
Clown “Nobody likes a clown at midnight”
This week’s choice is: It by Stephen King. Okay, I hate to be predictable but this was the book that immediately came to mind. I’ve tried to stick mainly with the covers with the clowns so for those of you with a nervous disposition you might want to leave here right now! Run. Why are you still here – run, now!! I won’t tell you again then…
And my winner, as crazy as this may seem, and definitely a bit understated given some of these covers, is:

Okay, no clown, but it just seems so Stephen King to me!
Which is your favourite?

Yes – this is definitely the best book choice without a doubt. I really struggled with this one! And I also agree with your choice as the best of your fine selection of covers:)
To be honest we only fairly recently did clowns I think – I didn’t use IT last time but I couldn’t come up with anything more original second time around!
Lynn 😀
Excellent choice! Especially considering that since I read this book, a long time ago, I’ve never been able to look at a storm drain in the same way… 😀
It’s so scary isn’t it!
Lynn 😀
I hate clowns. As such I have never read it. Also as such, you picked the right cover because it has no clowns.
Clowns surely are creepy aren’t they – I’m not sure how that happened because surely they weren’t supposed to be creepy originally!
Lynn 😀
Yay, the third time I’ve seen this theme today.😀
Yes, it’s been very popular!
Lynn 😀
Haha, it’s been a popular choice – I really wish I could have thought of a different book but I just couldn’t bring one to mind!
Lynn 😀
Ha, I just think it is/was the obvious choice, I’m actually struggling to think of any other books with clowns in at all yet alone on the cover! 🙂
I know what you mean!
Lynn 😀
The cover you picked is the same one that I own, and I read it in high school. I’ll never look at balloons, spiders, OR clowns the same again!
Hahaha – my work here is complete.
Lynn 😀
Creeepy! Thanks for posting the new themes. I’m trying to get back on my regular schedule after some post-holiday laziness :p
Yeah, I should get on and schedule a few I suppose – but like you, I’m just about getting back on track.
Lynn 😀
I tried to read this book ages ago, but as is the case with a lot of King’s older work, I just couldn’t get into it. I gave it a chance, but boy was the prose and story bloated!
Yeah, I guess he has a certain style of writing! I read The Shining fairly recently and it was a lot chunkier than I expected.
Lynn 😀
Oh man this covers are so creepy I can’t really say I have a favourite! I’ve never read this book and not sure I will ever be brave enough too either 😀
I think some of these covers would definitely make me walk (i.e run) away in the opposite direction – very fast!
Lynn 😀
