Here we are again with the Friday Face Off meme created by Books by Proxy . This is a great opportunity to feature some of your favourite book covers. The rules are fairly simple each week, following a predetermined theme (list below) choose a book, compare a couple of the different covers available for that particular book and choose your favourite. Future week’s themes are listed below. This week’s theme:
Oranges and lemons say the bells of St Clements – A cover with fruit
This week I’ve chosen two covers for Five Quarters of the Orange by Joanne Harris: (curiously, the other book I chose was Blackberry Wine, also by Joanne Harris!)
and my winner:

This is a lovely cover, it just appeals to me, the colour and the font.
Which is your favourite??
If you fancy joining in with the FFO the themes for the next few weeks are below.
9th December – Soul Meets Soul on Lovers’ Lips – a cover with lips
16 December – Give a Girl the Right Shoes and she can conquor the world – a cover with shoes
23rd December – The first noel… – a cover with angels
30th December – Ho ho ho! To the bottle I go… – a cover with drink
Totally agree with your choice. 🙂
Thanks Drew 😀
I love that cover too. And I’m pretty sure I have a copy of Blackberry Wine, so I must have read it when it came out.
Yeah, I had a bit of a run of reading Harris a few years ago so read about 5 or 6 of her books in quick succession. I do like her, she has a lovely storytelling voice.
Lynn 😀
I love the cover you selected – and a great choice. And we ALL chose different books, yay!
Yay indeed. 😀
Yes, definitely that one. 🙂
Thanks 😀
I love the curled up orange peel on your winning cover, however I think my favourite is the first one as it has a rustic and eccentric feel to it.
The rustic cover is the cover I own and it is lovely. I’d not seen the orange peel cover before so it really drew my eye.
Lynn 😀
Ah nice pick, when I saw the theme the only book I could think of was Twilight :S.
Anyway, haven’t heard of this book before, though I’m familiar with Harris!
Oh of course – Twilight – I never thought of that!
Lynn 😀
