Here we are again with the Friday Face Off meme created by Books by Proxy . This is a great opportunity to feature some of your favourite book covers. The rules are fairly simple each week, following a predetermined theme (list below) choose a book, compare a couple of the different covers available for that particular book and choose your favourite. Future week’s themes are listed below. This week’s theme:
As old as the hills?? – A cover with mountains
and my winner:

I just like the scope of it – the tiny figures in the background, the crispness – it makes me feel cold just looking at it and of course mountains.
Which is your favourite??
If you fancy joining in with the FFO the themes for the next few weeks are below.
2nd December – Oranges and lemons say the bells of St Clements – A cover with fruit
9th December – Soul Meets Soul on Lovers’ Lips – a cover with lips
16 December – Give a Girl the Right Shoes and she can conquor the world – a cover with shoes
23rd December – The first noel… – a cover with angels
30th December – Ho ho ho! To the bottle I go… – a cover with drink
Great choice! And,totally agree with your choice to. 🙂
Many thanks 😀
Great choice of book, Lynn and I also agree with your cover choice – it doesn’t hurt that it also is the cover of the book I read – which I LOVED:). Have a great week-end.
You too – I’m always influenced by the book I read and owned for some reason – probably just a familiarity thing.
Lynn 😀
I agree with your choice! That’s my fave cover too.
It’s a good one isn’t it with the tiny figures in the background – you kind of miss them at first.
Lynn 😀
My favorite is the one right after the one you picked
Yeah, it’s a really cool cover – I liked it a lot. Bryan – do you have a blog? If you do then let me have your link – I always like to stop and visit people.
Lynn 😀
I prefer all the other covers except the black one. I just ordered it so I’ll see if it looks better in person.
Hope it looks good – let me know.
Lynn 😀
My copy is the one with the black background, and I liked it well enough, but I must say that the white version, with the small figures in the background is much more powerful!
The black cover is actually the one that I’m familiar with but I actually think the white one with the figures is excellent.
Lynn 😀
I had no idea this book had so many covers. Last I checked it was like, two. I like your choice though – I’ve always liked the sword snowflake, but also though the US version with the black background is too plain.
The problem wit the black is, well, there’s just nothing else to the background at all, which is a bit disappointing after looking at the white.
Lynn 😀
I like your choice of cover. That’s the best one! 🙂
Thanks – I really like the background detail which is totally lost with the all black cover.
Great cover choice – I love those snowy mountains with the travellers inbetween; very atmospheric. No surprise to you that this cover theme made me think of the classic cover for The Hobbit 😀
Yes – it made me think of the Hobbit also and in fact that was the book that I was going to choose for this week’s theme – but I always seem to choose the Hobbit and LotR books so thought I’d step out of character.
Lynn 😀
