Here we are again with the Friday Face Off meme created by Books by Proxy . This is a great opportunity to feature some of your favourite book covers. The rules are fairly simple and can be found here. Each week, following a predetermined theme (list below) choose a book, compare a couple of the different covers available for that particular book and choose your favourite. This week’s theme:
14th October: There was once a princess, who lived in the top of the highest tower – a cover with a castle.
And, my choice this week is The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms (Inheritance #1) by N K Jemisin
Some very different covers this week. My winner is:

Which is your favourite?
If you fancy joining in with the FFO the themes for the next few weeks are below.
21st October: ‘There’s no place like home, there’s no place like home, there’s no place like home: a cover with a house/abandoned house
28th October – ‘And I Jack, The Pumpkin King’! – a cover for Halloween
4th November – Nomad is an island – a cover with a wanderer
11th November -Falling off the rails – a cover with train tracks

23rd December – The first noel… – a cover with angels
30th December – Ho ho ho! To the bottle I go… – a cover with drink
An absolutely marvellous choice of book this week Lynn well played, the same as mine, great minds think a like! 🙂
Indeed they do!
Lynn 😀
The second cover is peculiar, since it avoids the “castle in the mists” theme adopted by the others: very, very mysterious!
Yes, not quite sure what was going on with that particular cover.
Lynn 😀
I love the second one in the second row – just something about those pinks and purples that really appeal to me!
It is a nice cover – I kept checking it out myself!
Lynn 😀
I really like the cover you’ve chosen and the first one on the second row 🙂
Good choice! They’re all similar covers but some just really stand out.
Lynn 😀
These are all fabulous covers – except for the second one, which is just bizarre, given the subject matter in the book. But I’m with you – I think the first cover absolutely nails it:). It’s an ideal choice for the subject, too!
The second one is a very strange choice. I love the first cover – probably because of association and it’s the book I read.
Lynn 😀
I agree with your choice, plus I also like #4 in the first row.
Some of these covers really do manage to stand out – even though, mostly, they’re very similar!
Lynn 😀
