“Sting is my name, I am the spider’s bane.”

FFO.jpg

Here we are again with the Friday Face Off meme being hosted by Books by Proxy .   This is a great opportunity to feature some of your favourite books’ covers.  The rules are fairly simple and can be found here.  Each week, following a predetermined theme choose a book, compare a couple of the different covers available for that particular book and choose your favourite.  Simples.  This week the theme is:

Renewed Shall be Blade That Was Broken

A cover which features the word ‘blade’ in its title

Awesome book series, gets better with each book. Ah, you picked the same as me for the Friday Face-Off, oh well, great minds must think a like and I to chose the UK cover though it was close between the UK and French. 😊🙌

Cool – will be over to check out your post shortly.
      Lynn 😀

I completely agree with your choice – Drew at The Tattooed Book Blog has also gone with THE TRAITOR’S BLADE and also agrees with your decision:). It really is a striking cover. This is my FF this week… https://sjhigbee.wordpress.com/2016/05/27/friday-faceoff-renewed-shall-be-the-blade-that-was-broken/

I love that cover – sometimes I wonder if it’s just a case of familiarity but having really given the other covers a good look I don’t think so.
      Lynn 😀

  3. Carmen

I agree with the 3rd without any doubt. Though the first intrigued me.

I love the blue color of the first cover! But before I even read what you wrote, I was think it remained me of some other book too… I thought it was sometime of alternate cover for the The Blade Itself that I hadn’t seen before?

I like the third one best, too. If you look at it from afar, and can’t see the detail in the red, the guy looks like a giant gummy bear XD

    • @lynnsbooks

haha – a giant gummy bear – yeah, I can go with that. The first does have an Abercrombie feel and the second just doesn’t appeal to me somehow.
      Lynn 😀

Read this book a few weeks ago – amazing! Love it. The covers aren’t half bad either 😉 I definitely agree with you on this one – that third cover is gorgeous – so simple but eye-catching! 😀

Ah you and the TattooedGeek are Fri Faceoff twins this week. I don’t know, I think I would have to go with the US one for this. It’s the only one that shows the three of them for the full on musketeers vibe. I also thought this would be full on grimdark when I first saw the UK cover, the humorous adventure it turned out to be completely shocked me!

    • @lynnsbooks

Haha – yeah, good point about the Musketeer effect, and yeah, I came to the read late with this one so I knew what to expect but even with that in mind I still wasn’t expecting the humour that the book has.
      Lynn 😀

I would definitely pick the 3rd cover too, it is so striking!

    • @lynnsbooks

I love that entire series of covers – really eye catching and dramatic.
      Lynn 😀

  8. Danya @ Fine Print

I definitely prefer the cover you chose, too! And not just because it matches all the other series artwork. 😉
