This week over at The Broke and Bookish the topic for discussion is:
‘Top Ten New-To-Me Favorite Authors I Read For The First Time In 2015’
This week feels easy and then at the same time not so easy – I had a few authors I wanted to include so it was tough to narrow it down and in actual fact this is the first time ever that I’ve gone over 10! My new authors this year:
- Ferrett Steinmetz – Flex
- Ian Tregillis – The Mechanical
- Juliet Marillier – Dreamer’s Pool
- Wesley Chu – Lives of Tao
- Sebastien de Castell – Traitor’s Blade
- Clay and Susan Griffith – Vampire Empire
- Ben Tripp – The Fifth House of the Heart
- Bradley P Beaulieu – Twelve Kings
- Leigh Bardugo – Six of Crows
- Michael Livingston – The Shards of Heaven
- Genevieve Cogman – The Invisible Library

Great list! I haven’t read any of these authors yet. i’m going to have to check some of them out.
I’ve had a good year for new authors – difficult to narrow it down.

These lists are giving me lots of ideas for next year! I tried so hard to read Juliette Marillier but it just didn’t happen.
I think you would really enjoy Marillier – having said that I’ve only read the one but I can’t wait to pick up the second in her Grimm books – The Thorn book – so looking forward to that.

Great list! Some I love to see on here, and some I need to read still! I think I might try to make my own list! 🙂
Look forward to seeing who you have on your list.

Sadly I haven’t read any of these authors – I would love to read something by Juliet Marillier though. As for me I have read new fantasy novels by Cheryl Mahoney and fascinating historical non-fiction by Susan Doran. Plus I have read some classics for the first time by Frances Hodgson Burnett and Edith Nesbit.
I think you’d love Juliet Marillier – I have only read the one but I have Daughter of the Forest waiting to be read too – which has great reviews too.
Lynn 😀
I ordered the Tao trilogy on black Friday! I have those high on my TBR for next year 🙂
Ohh, look forward to seeing what you think of those – I loved them. Such a good trilogy.
Lynn 😀
Bradley P. Beaulieu! D’oh, I can’t believe I missed him off my list! Considering I’ve had his first trilogy on my shelf for years, and I finally read Twelve Kings this year and loved it! 🙂
Twelve Kings was so good – I can’t wait for No.2.
