You can run but you can’t hide!

This week over at the Broke and Bookish the Top Ten Tuesday is:

Ten Finished Series I Have YET to Finish

Yes, this week’s topic is finished series – that I haven’t yet finished reading!!  I wrote this (shamefaced) post some time ago and I have been trying to cross some books off the list – unfortunately at the same time I’ve been crossing off I’ve also been adding more.  However, as I haven’t put the new series on the list yet I refuse to feel guilty about them.  Without further ado my 10 unfinished series:

  1. Timeless by Gail Carriger – already read Soulless, Changeless, Blameless and Heartless
  2. The Descent by Alma Katus – already read The Taker and The Reckoning
  3. Dust by Hugh Howey – already read Wool and Shift
  4. The Merchant of Dreams and The Prince of Lies by Anne Lyle – already read The Alchemist of Souls
  5. Monsters by Ilsa Bick – already read Ashes and Shadows
  6. Bitterblue by Kristin Cashore – read Graceline and Fire (not altogether a series but based in the same world – and have now started reading this one!)
  7. The Book of Life by Deborah Harkness – already read A Discovery of Witches and Shadow of Night (in truth I’ve actually gone off this series a little)
  8. The Last Rite by Jasper Kent (No 5 in the Danilov Quintet) – already read Twelve, Thirteen Years Later, The Third Section and The People’s Will – I really need to finish this one.
  9.  Outpost and Horde by Ann Aguirre – already read Enclave
  10. Shimmer and Burn by Paula Weston – already read Shadows and Haze

Hi there! I haven’t read any of those series, sadly. 😦 But they all sound interesting. Do you have any recommendation? 🙂

You may want to read my TTT, 

Thanks – sorry I’m a bit late in stopping over. My laptop was out of order last week so I’m incredibly behind with everything!
      Lynn 😀

It’s okay, it’s okay (she says soothingly). We all have series we haven’t finished in our dark reading past.

Here’s my Top Ten Series I’ve YET to Finish!

    • lynnsbooks

I actually can’t believe how many unfinished series I have – it’s shocking! And yet I keep adding to them. It’s very bad but I can’t help it!
      Lynn 😀

I realised I have far too many! I haven’t even gone off most of them, there’s literally just too much to read! I must say I haven’t even heard of most of the ones on your list but I do have A Discovery of Witches waiting on my bookshelf.

I sort of went off the Harkness books after No.2 – which was a surprise because I love the era it’s set in so I expected to love it. Maybe I won’t finish that one – time will tell. It’s not that I’ve gone off all the others it’s just that I keep seeing the new shiny books and I want them.
      Lynn 😀

I did finish Alma Katsu’s series, but a lot of the series on your list I haven’t finished either. Series are my weakness, not in the sense that I can’t resist them, but I have a hard time commiting.

    • lynnsbooks

Ahh, I’m interested – was the Alma Katsu a good finish?? Haha I like that you can’t commit to a series.
      Lynn 😀

I too have the All Souls trilogy by Deborah Harkness to finish. I am hoping to read Shadow of Night during the R.I.P event. I wouldn’t feel bad though. Many of us have too many series to finish!

    • lynnsbooks

It’s so silly how many series I start and then don’t finish. And quite often they’re books that I’ve loved – I think I just don’t want the series to end or something.
      Lynn 😀

  6. Carrie

I have not even heard of most of these lol – I am so ashamed! My TTT

    • lynnsbooks

Definitely don’t be ashamed – I’m certainly not doing a good job of completing them.
      Lynn 😀

I’ve yet to read Timeless as well, read the other 4. I do hope you finish Anne Lyle’s series 🙂

    • lynnsbooks

Ohh, interesting – did it end really well the – the stupid thing is I have both books just sitting looking at me. If you enjoyed it that’s an incentive to move it up the pile.
      Lynn 😀

There are so many books on my list that are the last of a trilogy or the third book of a series I haven’t finished. Three seems to be a cursed number for me 😛

BTW, Monsters was a giant disappointment, that was one I wish I hadn’t caught up with 😦

    • lynnsbooks

Yeah. I think you mentioned that you’d not enjoyed Monsters which is probably another reason why I’ve left it part of me really wants to finish the series but the other part of me doesn’t want to read the third book if it’s going to be a disappointment. Path. Decisions. Decisions.

    • lynnsbooks

I just actually think I don’t like to complete the last in the series – maybe I’ve been cursed!
Monsters, yeah, I think you mentioned to me way back that you were disappointed with No.3 which is probably why I still haven’t picked it up to be honest. It was such a promising series.
      Lynn 😀
