We wants the precious… we wants the precious now!

This week’s theme for Top Ten Tuesday over at the Broke and Bookish is :

‘Top Ten Sequels I Can’t Wait To Get (my dirty mitts upon)’

This is a post that I’m not going to have any difficulty with at all!!  Because I want ALL the books!  However, I will restrict this to 10 (or so) because I’m good like that.  So, in no particular order or any particular idea of when they’ll arrive on the scene:

  1. The Liar’s Key by Mark Lawrence – I’m in love with his books!!!
  2. The Thorn of Emberlain by Scott Lynch – hopefully early ’15 (fingers crossed) (ditto the above)
  3. Doors of Stone – Patrick Rothfuss – no idea when this is due so if anybody wants to chuck me a frickin bone… (ditto the above– forget it – I love all the authors on this list!!!)
  4. Patricia Briggs – Mercy Thompson No.9 – not yet titled.  Want.
  5. Clash of Iron by Angus Watson – Age of Iron was so good and not a long wait for No.2 – April ’15!
  6. No.3 of the Seven Forges by James a Moore
  7. Sword of the North by Luke Scull
  8. Whatever delights the lovely one known as Gillian Phillp decides to produce next
  9. Ditto the above for Lauren Beukes and Sarah Pinborough – see how I fit two in there!!!
  10. Skybreaker by Brandon Sanderson- did you really think I wouldn’t have the Stormlight Archives on here – go on now!!!
  11. Half the World by Joe Abercrombie

Yes, I know I have too many but sometimes rules are made for breaking.  The end.  (Oh, I’ve put a few covers – some of the above don’t have covers yet!)

Apart from all my lovelies, whatcha waiting for????

I haven’t heard of any of these books but you definitely added some titles to my TBR pile. Great list! 🙂

Well, that’s good – because they’re all so bloody good! I hope you do pick some up and enjoy them!
      Lynn 😀

1,2,3,7, and 11. Those are the ones I need to come out. Not sure what order I need them in but I am sure I could figure it out.

    • @lynnsbooks's avatar lynnsbooks

Not the Brandon Sanderson?? Have you not been reading WoK and WoR?? I don’t know why but I thought you had??
      Lynn 😀

I have read WoK and thought it was OK. Never got to WoR, but maybe I was the only blogger in the world who didn’t.

I am OK with Sanderson but not over the moon like so many bloggers are.

I loved WoK and WoR – wasn’t as keen on Mistborn, I thought his short story The Emperor’s Soul was really good. I don’t love absolutely everything he does but did love WoR!

Thorn of Emberlain is high on my list too. Also, the next book in the Ice and Fire series by GRR Martin. James S. A. Corey will probably have another Expansion Universe book out soonish. I know Maplecroft by Cherie Priest just came out but I am VERY much looking forward to the sequel.

    • @lynnsbooks's avatar lynnsbooks

Ohhhhh, Susan, I can’t wait for the Thorn of Emberlain – I’m giddy with anticipation. I’ve still not read Maplecroft – note to self – READ IT!
      Lynn 😀

I hope you haven’t got long to wait for at least some of these. I am waiting for volume 3 of Queen of Hearts by Colleen Oakes 🙂

I’m so impatient! And then so excited when I finally hear about a release date. I hope you don’t have long to wait for Colleen Oakes.
      Lynn 😀

Wow. Pretty much everything on here I agree with! Though I have to catch up with a couple series – mainly Gillian Philips’ and James A. Moore’s — before I look forward to their sequels. I am getting antsy for Sword of the North!

    • @lynnsbooks's avatar lynnsbooks

I can’t wait for some of these – particularly the Lynch. Sword of the North not too much longer to wait now. I wish I knew when the Rothfuss was expected.
      Lynn 😀

Thanks. I’ll be checking out your choices shortly.

Patricia Briggs is one of my “read everything” authors. I can’t wait for her next book, either.

    • @lynnsbooks's avatar lynnsbooks

I should probably branch out into some of her other books!

Have you read the Alpha & Omega series? It’s related to Mercy–if you haven’t, you have to start with the short story titled “Alpha & Omega,” of course.

I also really like The Hob’s Bargain, which is a stand alone book.

      • @lynnsbooks's avatar lynnsbooks

Thanks – have taken a look – there are quite a few Alpha and Omega – really like the look of Hob’s Bargain. Have added to the list.

    Thorn of Emberlain!

      Bloody hell!

It has been weird not blogging about Lamora and co.

I’m desperate to see what havoc the GB’s can cause in a brand new country with new politics etc.

        I know – I can hardly wait!
