“Waiting On Wednesday” is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine.  Every Wednesday we get to highlight a book that we’re really looking forward to.  This week I’m highlighting A Court of Mist and Fury (A Court of Thorns and Roses No.2) by Sarah J Maas.  So looking forward to this one!

a court of mist and fury.jpgFeyre survived Amarantha’s clutches to return to the Spring Court–but at a steep cost. Though she now has the powers of the High Fae, her heart remains human, and it can’t forget the terrible deeds she performed to save Tamlin’s people.

Nor has Feyre forgotten her bargain with Rhysand, High Lord of the feared Night Court. As Feyre navigates its dark web of politics, passion, and dazzling power, a greater evil looms–and she might be key to stopping it. But only if she can harness her harrowing gifts, heal her fractured soul, and decide how she wishes to shape her future–and the future of a world cleaved in two.

Due out May 2016.

I’m looking forward to this one too, which is odd seeing as I’ve not read ACOTAR yet! People had such strong opinions one way or the other about that book, I kind of just want to turn my brain off and enjoy the ride when I finally do get around to it.

It did seem a bit divisive. I really enjoyed it – it’s a very slow build up and I don’t think some people enjoy that and want to be ‘bam’ straight into the action. There were definitely a couple of things that niggled me but on the whole it was good and I love the Beauty and Beast aspect.

I haven’t read the first one yet. One of these days …. (story of my life)

We just need to come to terms with the fact that we can’t read them all I suppose – so hard though.

I still need to read the first book, but I actually bought a copy so that should be easy. Great choice!

I need to catch up on this series!

I liked it but it does seem to be a book that divides people. Slow to start and also with a very small cast for the majority of the book – not things that bother me but they’re not everyone’s cup of tea. Plus I love Beauty and the Beast so any opportunity to partake of a retelling.

I’m currently reading ACOTAR and hope to have it finished before this book comes out!,

I hope you enjoy it. I think some people maybe had issues with the pacing and also the shortage of characters in the first half – I really liked it though. I had a couple of niggles but after that ending I definitely have to read on!

I recently caught up with ACOTAR! I can see why it divides people. I personally had mixed feelings about it, but liked it enough to continue with the next book. Some of my favorite series started off on shaky legs, after all 🙂 And I was intrigued by the story that I would likely pick this one up too when it comes out.

Yeah, it’s a slow start and there is a very small cast until the last third. I also tended to like the surrounding characters rather than the main ones. But I don’t mind a slow start – and Beauty and the Beast is my favourite fairy tale so I enjoyed the take (although, having a beautiful fae character with a simple face mask – doesn’t exactly turn him into a monster does it! I’m definitely intrigued enough to carry on with the next one.
