Booking Ahead/Weekly Wrap Up

Sunday Post

Today I’m posting my Weekly Wrap Up and I’m linking up to The Sunday Post over at Kimberly’s  Caffeinated Reviewer.  Without further ado:

Weekly Update

We had a lovely trip away, the wedding we went to was such good fun and it was great to catch up with so many people all in one go. The weather is warm again and it seems that wild fires are plaguing many countries. I hope everyone keeps safe. I have managed to post a few reviews recently so nearly caught up, especially as my reading hasn’t been particularly quick with all the recent travelling and socialising. Since my last update I finished The Witch Below the Dreaming Wood by HG Parry. This wasn’t particularly a quick read but if you love the tales of King Arthur and his roundtable and fancy a new take on the myth then this could be right up your ally. As usual Parry’s writing is exquisite. I’m still listening to This Blade of Ours by Shalini Abeysekara – tbh I’m not loving this as much as the first book but I feel like I should press on now and try to finish it. I’m currently reading The Intrigue by Silvia Moreno-Garcia which is intriguing, I’m about 40% of the way in, but it’s not my favourite of hers so far – but we’ll see.

Next Week’s Reads

Hopefully complete This Blade of Ours by Shalini Abeysekara and The Intrigue by Silvia Moreno-Garcia and then maybe I can fit in one more july book before the month ends which hopefully will be The Eye of Leviathan by M. A. Carrick.

Reviews Posted:

  1. A Drop of Corruption (Shadow of the Leviathan #2) by Robert Jackson Bennett

  2. The Witch Below the Dreaming Wood by HG Parry.

Hoping to see you round the blogosphere this forthcoming week

Very curious about The Intrigue. And the wedding sounds like fun, it is nice to catch up with old friends😁

Yes, it was lovely to have such a good catch up – all in one go too.

The Intrigue started a little slow for me but I ended up hooked.

Glad to hear you had such a nice time at the wedding! I think I missed a few of your reviews while I was traveling this month — off to go check out The Tinder Box!

I liked the Tinder Box, a good retelling with some changes that worked well.

The wedding was so good. A really good day and lots of friends and family.

Can’t believe I still haven’t read H. G. Parry. But Arthurian tales, you say! I need a closer look at this one.

Yes, its all about The Lady of the Lake and Merlin – very different to anything I’ve read before.

Im glad you had a lovely time at the wedding. Sounds like a busy week in the best possible way. I’m sorry to hear that This Blade Of Ours isn’t as strong as you expected. Its so frustrating when a sequel doesnt live up to the original. It looks like you have some interesting options lined up though.

Yeah, I wish I hadn’t really picked up This Blade and just stuck to the first book.

But, it is was it is.

      Lynn 😀
