Today Iβm posting my Weekly Wrap Up and Iβm linking up to The Sunday Post over at Kimberlyβs Caffeinated Reviewer. Without further ado:
Weekly Update
The hot weather continues and don’t ask me why but this seems to have inspired some sort of cleaning frenzy – go figure? We had a lovely time last week with our daughter visiting, hopefully we have a few calm days and then we’re off again on a short trip, predominantly to attend a wedding but also maybe a little visiting as well. This week I completed T Kingfisherβs The Wonder Engine which I loved, I also finished listening to A Drop of Corruption (Shadow of the Leviathan #2) by Robert Jackson Bennett which was brilliant. I picked up and completed The Tinder Box by MR Carey and also managed to squeeze in a novella by T Kingfisher called Nine Goblins. So, in reading terms I feel I fit a lot in this week – that being said two of those books were already near completion the week before. I’m now about to start reading The Eye of Leviathan by MA Carrick and I’m also listening to This Blade of Ours by Shalini Abeysekara.

Next Week’s Reads
Hopefully complete This Blade of Ours by Shalini Abeysekara and The Eye of Leviathan by M. A. Carrick although this could be wishful thinking as the two books combined weigh in at almost 950 pages. So, we’ll see.

Bravo to cleansing frenzy! The only way i enjoy it is by listening to audiobook at the same time. Do you as well?
Yes. Itβs a great way to multi task. Unless Iβm noisy cleaning (like vacuuming)

Have fun on your trip! I’m so curious to see what you thought of The Tinder Box. I requested a copy but it hasn’t arrived yet. And now I’m on to my July books. Sigh. Too many books…
I liked it tbh. Not sure it was what I expected but it was a very curious read and I did like the style that it was written in, although that could perhaps be off putting for some readers as it feels a bit olde world.
And, good problems to have right? I have some absolute belters on my shelves right now. I canβt wait!!
Ive had times when I’ve decided to clean during a heatwave then wondered why once I’m half way through and melting π Hope you have a lovely week. Sounds like some very exciting reads. Im thrilled to hear that you loved Drop Of Corruption. I’ll have to keep an eye out for your thoughts on Tinder Box. I’ve just realised I havent seen any reviews for it actually π€
Hoping to post a review for Tinderbox soon.
I’ve stopped the manic cleaning now for a little while – probably because the weather has cooled down.

Looking forward to seeing it π
ππ and here I was hating the fact that I had to hoover later in the day than I’d like during the weather because I broke a glass π
Nine Goblins looks like it was be a blast to read! And I actually have a copy of the first two books of Shadow of the Leviathan, but I do not know why I haven’t started it yet!
Nine Goblins was good fun – typical Kingfisher.
Shadow of the Leviathan will be one of my next books. Can’t wait.

I hope you enjoy your trip, Lynn! And also that the weather cools down a bit where you are! All of your recent reads sound amazing, Iβm especially curious about The Tinder Box having recently enjoyed another one of his titles! And I definitely want to read the T. Kingfisher ones! I hope you love The Eye of Leviathan, it sounds great.
I’m really looking forward to Eye of Leviathan. The Tinder Box was good, quite different from what I was expecting. Hope to review it in the next couple of days.

I hope you enjoy your reading and your trip away for the wedding! π
Thanks, I hope so too.
