Friday Face Off: The Tapestry of Fate (Amina al-Sirafi, #2) by Shannon Chakraborty

FFO

Today I’m returning to the  Friday Face Off, originally created by Books by Proxy).  I’ve missed these for the past few months and so would like to get back to comparing covers (and hopefully I will be updating this page with a new banner.  This is an opportunity to look at a book of your choice and shine the spotlight on the covers.  Of course this only works for those books that have alternative covers (although sometimes I use this to look at a series of books to choose a favourite). So, if you have a book that has alternative covers, highlight them and choose your favourite.  If you’re taking part it would be great if you leave a comment/link so I can take a look at what you’ve chosen.

This week I’ve chosen a book that I shall be picking up soon and I’m really excited to get to, The Tapestry of Fate (Amina al-Sirafi, #2) by Shannon Chakraborty. Again this week, only two covers. Take a look:

My favourite:

I like both covers to be honest, the lovely purple tones of the first and the shiny city in the background but on balance I love all the little details and the contrast with the bottle green and orange.

Which is your favourite this week?

This is another tough pick. I’m going with the first cover, it definitely ties in better with book #1😁

Yes, that cover is a really good tie in for the first in series.

My favourite is the same as yours, but it’s so difficult to pick with these covers! I had the same issue with the first book when I covered it for FFO!

Wow, the covers are so dramatically different. The first one, somehow, just pulls me in quicker though!

It is a lovely cover – and definitely a difficult choice between the two.

Both covers are amazing, but I do prefer the U.S. one more! That being said, I’m curious to see how all 3 cover editions will look side-by-side.

Yes, that will be interesting to see, I agree totally.

Ooh I’ve never seen the first of these covers before. I love the purple background of the first one and the city too but I love the style of the second cover. That kind of detailed design always calls to me and it looks so pretty. Thinking about it my copy of the first book has the UK cover but the US one on the back endpages. So here’s hoping they do the same again with this one and I get to admire the purple version in that way whilst still having my favourite edition cover wise for my shelf 🤞
