Top Ten Tuesday: New to Me Authors Discovered in 2025

TTT

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme where every Tuesday we look at a particular topic for discussion and use various (or more to the point ten) bookish examples to demonstrate that particular topic.  Top Ten Tuesday (created and hosted by  The Broke and Bookish) is now being hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl and future week’s topics can be found here.  This week’s prompt is:

Bookish Discoveries I Made in 2025: New to Me Authors Discovered in 2025

I actually read a surprising amount of new authors last year. Here are my ten favourites:

Greenteeth by Molly O’Neill

Incidents Around the House by Josh Malerman

Victorian Psycho by Virginia Feito

The Knight and the Moth by Rachel Gillig

The Bone Raiders by Jackson Ford

This Monster of Mine by Shalini Abeysekara

No Friend to This House by Natalie Haynes

No Women Were Harmed by Heather Mottershead

Too Old For This by Steve Jones

By Blood by Salt by JL Odom

Ooh, can’t wait to check out your list and see what you chose.

Ugh, I still haven’t read Samantha Downing! Maybe this year. Jackson Ford is a long time favorite of mine, but I wish he would get back to his Frost Files series, I love it way more than the The Bone Raiders.

Maybe I should take a look at this Frost Files series if you loved it.

I’d like to check out Greenteeth, but first Nightshade and the Oak!

So many good ones! I loved Greenteeth, and would definitely like to read her upcoming new release.

I hope you have chance to pick it up and that you love it if you do.

Virginia Feito and Natalie Haynes were new to me authors last year too. I know my experience of No Friend To This House was more mixed than yours but I adored the authors narrative approach and definitely hope to pick up more by her soon. I’m so happy to see Samantha Downing included here. I somehow havent picked up her most recent two books but she’s one of my favourite thriller authors. And I cannot believe that I haven’t read anything by Rachel Gillig yet 🙈 I cant wait to see what new authors you discover this year too.

I was surprised at how many new authors I read last year. I hope you get a chance to read Gillig. I really enjoyed the Knight and the Moth and definitely want to read the next in that series. No Friend to This House – I did enjoy it but I can totally see why it might not work for everyone tbh.

Thank you, I’ll definitely be reading her books at some point this year. If I can’t snag the copy I want I’ll borrow it via the library in a few months then treat myself in the future 😅

Every time I see the cover of Bone Raiders, I think it’s in the same series as Kings of the Wyld, lol.

There are a couple authors that I religiously follow on here including Malerman and Downing, very glad you discovered them last year!

Me too. Can’t wait to see what they come up with next.
