Friday Face Off: The Enchanted Greenhouse by Sarah Beth Durst (Spellshop #2)

FFO

Today I’m returning to the  Friday Face Off, originally created by Books by Proxy).  I’ve missed these for the past few months and so would like to get back to comparing covers (and hopefully I will be updating this page with a new banner.  This is an opportunity to look at a book of your choice and shine the spotlight on the covers.  Of course this only works for those books that have alternative covers (although sometimes I use this to look at a series of books to choose a favourite). So, if you have a book that has alternative covers, highlight them and choose your favourite.  If you’re taking part it would be great if you leave a link so I can take a look at what you’ve chosen.

This week I’ve chosen a book that I read earlier in the year and was a lovely, cosy romantasy.  The Enchanted Greenhouse by Sarah Beth Durst (second in the Spellshop series).

Here are the covers:

I like both covers but I think the colours of the first appeal to me more (although I love all the little details in the second):

Which is your favourite this week?

I haven’t seen the second one before, I think it’s my favorite.

I know, I was surprised by that second cover and Book 1 also has a cover in the same style. It’s a lovely cover as well and I do like all the little details.

I like the purple cover more for this novel.

Yes, I love that cover, and the cover for Spellshop too.

Not seen the second cover for this one before – although I think I like the first one more, which is interesting as the design of the second one is usually the kind of aesthetic that appeals to me (I think it’s maybe just a bit too ‘busy’…)

I know what you mean exactly, the second one is totally my usual go to.

[…] The Enchanted Greenhouse by Sarah Beth Durst.  This is a lovely romantasy set in the same world as The Spellshop.  I can’t get enough of these stories at the moment.  They’re lovely, easy to read and definitely nothing short of cosy.  A great read to place between two more prickly stories (a rose between thorns!)
