Books read this week:
I’ve had another busy week so not as much reading as I would have liked. I’m making good progress with blog hopping and catching up with comments and shall continue with that this week. I still have quite a few reviews to post, I think I’ll maybe have to double up here and there. This week I read The Naked Light by Bridget Collins, I did struggle a little with this although it had all the components of a novel that usually have me falling over myself to pick up so I’m not sure why. I also read and really enjoyed The Cold House by AG Slatter and I’m now reading House of Splinters by Laura Purcell.
Next Week’s Reads:
Complete House of Splinters by Laura Purcell and then maybe pick up Cinder House by Freya Marske.

You have a “house” theme going on, love it😁
Haha, yes I did have a theme didn’t I!
Lynn 😀
Ohh, I am curious to see what you will think of Cinder House!!
Wasn’t really for me unfortunately.
Lynn 😀
Im sorry to hear that you struggled a bit with The Naked Light, although its kind of a relief hearing that it wasnt just me. I usually love Bridget Collins books and although this had her usual beautiful writing I just couldn’t connect. Im glad you enjoyed The Cold House and can’t wait to www what you think of House Of Splinters too.
I’ll have to check out your full review for it once you’ve shared it but how was No Women Were Harmed?
It was a shame about The Naked Light – as you say, lovely writing, but it didn’t work for me – I still need to write my review. The Cold House was very different from her usual work but I enjoyed it. Very unexpected. House of Splinters – I think we shared very similar thoughts for that one. Good, I didn’t love it as much as The Silent Companions but it was still a very creepy read, but the ending felt a bit rushed.
I liked No Women Were Harmed. Very different.
Lynn 😀
I have to wait until next Feb for the Laura Purcell book to hit the US, boo! But at least they are pubbing in the US, I don’t think I ever saw her last book over here!
Such a shame when that happens!
Lynn 😀
