Friday Face Off: Summer of Horror – Horror Stories I’d Like to Read

FFO

Today I’m returning to the  Friday Face Off, originally created by Books by Proxy).  I’ve missed these for the past few months and so would like to get back to comparing covers (and hopefully I will be updating this page with a new banner.  This is an opportunity to look at a book of your choice and shine the spotlight on the covers.  Of course this only works for those books that have alternative covers (although sometimes I use this to look at a series of books to choose a favourite). So, if you have a book that has alternative covers, highlight them and choose your favourite.  If you’re taking part it would be great if you leave a link so I can take a look at what you’ve chosen.

This is the last week showing covers to fit in with Books, Bones and Buffy’s Summer of Horror I thought for my last shot I’d post a few covers of horror stories that I haven’t yet read but would like  to.  Take a look and see if you have a favourite:

My favourite this week:

Which is your favourite?

Join me next week in highlighting one of your reads with different covers

Maybe it’s because they are in black and white, but I’ve always found the Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children book covers to be creepy. I was convinced they were horror, but when I read the first one it seemed more fantasy to me. Still, I like the covers.

Ahh, yes, I also thought they were horror – probably because of the covers, but I’ve yet to read.

I haven’t read NOS4R2 either, I’m glad I’m not alone😁 Or the Lesser Dead. It’s hard to pick a favorite cover!

I didn’t care for Library at Mount Char, it was just too weird for me. But I still think it has one of the most interesting covers I’ve ever seen.

I had heard that it was weird – but sometimes I don’t mind ‘weird’ so it could work for me.

Great topic to end the event with and we have a few in common TBR wise too. I really want to read The Bloody Chamber in particular but the majority of the others are on my TBR too. I’m also going to have to add A Stir Of Echoes as I’ve seen the movie but never realised it was also a book. I imagine it’s a hard hitting, intense read.

Cover wise I think my favourite is either the library one or Miss Peregrine (which is one I really must get to sometime). I like that the latter has pictures like it throughout the book too (I believe)

I’ve also seen Stir of Echoes and really enjoyed it – I would love to read the book to see how the adaptation compares.

Yes, I’d heard that Miss Peregrine had pictures throughout – although how well that works on kindle remains to be seen.

    Lynn 😀
