Booking Ahead/Weekly Wrap Up

Sunday Post

Books read this week:

This week I’ve had a good time.  I actually had my last language class and so that will definitely free up some free time for reading and blogging.  I also completed Vianne by Joanne Harris.  I read The Vengeance by Emma Newman and I also started The Malevolent Eight by Sebastien de Castell.  I must say that my reading has been a bit hit and miss recently – I think it’s a mood thing – so I do have a few books that I’ve put down because they simply weren’t fitting my mood and I do intend to return to them.

Next Week’s Reads:

I will definitely be picking up We Live Here Now by Sarah Pinborough.  Also, The Listeners by Maggie Stiefvater and I’d like to finish my current audio book which is Victorian Psycho by Virginia Feito (which I’m really enjoying).

I’ve had a tough reading month too. At least two DNFs and some three star books. Hopefully June will ne better😁

I think I’ve had four DNFs in the last few weeks!

Hopefully this month will be better.

I’m definitely a mood reader too. Romance has given way to gothic/historical/dark academia moods for me at the moment, which is unusual as that’s mostly my autumn mood 😀

Yes, I’m behaving a littler similar and reading books that I would normally savour when the nights are darker.

I’m a mood reader too, I’m still read Beautiful Ugly by Alice Feeney but not really feeling it 🫤

I liked Beautiful Ugly but it’s not my favourite by the author – and tbh, I probably stuck with it more rigidly because I like the author so much.

Same, I eventually got to the end of it – I liked it but wasn’t as drawn in as I usually am with her books.

I’m curious to see what you think of The Listeners!

Unfortunately, so far, it hasn’t won me over and I’ve set it aside for now.

I just finished the new Sarah Pinborough. It’s on brand with her supernatural mystery thrillers, I had fun with it.

It’s definitely Pinborough to a tee – with all her distractionary tactics to keep you off the main scent.

Hi Lynn, I hope you will have chance to do more reading now your language lessons are over. I recently finished re-reading Howards End by E.M. Forster and I am currently reading The Murder of Mary Russell by Laurie R. King.
