Friday Face Off: House of Frost and Feathers by Lauren Wiesebron

FFO

Today I’m returning to the  Friday Face Off, originally created by Books by Proxy).  I’ve missed these for the past few months and so would like to get back to comparing covers (and hopefully I will be updating this page with a new banner.  This is an opportunity to look at a book of your choice and shine the spotlight on the covers.  Of course this only works for those books that have alternative covers (although sometimes I use this to look at a series of books to choose a favourite). . So, if you have a book that has alternative covers, highlight them and choose your favourite.  If you’re taking part it would be great if you leave a link so I can take a look at what you’ve chosen.

This week I’ve chosen a book that I’m currently reading.  The House of Frost and Feathers by Lauren Wiesebron.

My favourite this week:

At first glance the cover with the roaring fire appeals to me, but, having started to read this I actually think the  second covers suits the read better.

Have you read this book already?  What did you think and which is your favourite?

Join me next week in highlighting one of your reads with different covers.

Since I haven’t read the book, I’ll go with the first cover! But both of them are beautiful!! And are you enjoying the book??

I did enjoy this – although I yet have to post a review. Still catching up but I’m getting their slowly but surely. I liked it, it’s not a fast paced read, quite character focused, which I do like but not really a good deal of plot.

I haven’t read the book, but the cover you chose seems to fit better the word folkloric.
    I’m back as well: https://wordsandpeace.com/2025/01/10/friday-face-off-and-review-death-and-the-joyfull-woman/

Thanks for the link – look forward to seeing your covers.

The second cover feels like there’s some humor to the story, with the legs on the house😁

Yes, I’d say that you’ve hit the nail on the head.

Ooh how are you finding this one? I love the house on the one you’ve picked, especially the feet having read a couple of books featuring Baba Yaga before. But overall I prefer the other one, simply as it’s closer to the type of cover that draws me in.

Yes, the other cover would normally have been my automatic choice but I just loved the chicken legs.

They are both beautiful so it was hard to choose. In the end I had to go with your choice too, because it more emphasizes the snowy setting 🙂

Hi! I’m new to the blogging world, and wanted to start doing this meme! I was just wondering if this is just a first Friday of the month or whatever type meme, or if I could do it on any Friday? Also is there a theme I have to follow, or can I pick any book?

    Thanks 🙂

    • @lynnsbooks's avatar @lynnsbooks

Hi Isabella. This meme is usually every Friday. I’ve been absent from blogging for two weeks but hopefully getting back to normal this week. Of course you can do this on any Friday you wish. No themes any more. Just comparing different covers for the same book. I hope you take part. If you leave me a link I’ll check out your choices.
      Lynn 😊
