Top Ten Tuesday : Atmospheric Reads

TTT

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme where every Tuesday we look at a particular topic for discussion and use various (or more to the point ten) bookish examples to demonstrate that particular topic.  Top Ten Tuesday (created and hosted by  The Broke and Bookish) is now being hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl and future week’s topics can be found here.   This week’s topic:

Atmospheric Books

The Ten books I’ve chosen for this prompt are all relatively new reads (last 12-24 months), they are all excellent books to read on a cold autumn night and for the most part involve haunted or gothic settings.

  1. The Haunting of Las Lagrimas by WM Cleese
  2. How to Sell a Haunted House by Grady Hendrix
  3. The Night House by Jo Nesbo
  4. Episode Thirteen by Craig DiLouie
  5. The Whispering Muse by Laura Purcell
  6. Daisy Darker by Alice Feeney
  7. Old Country by Matt Query
  8. The Ghost Woods by CJ Cooke
  9. The Hollows by Daniel Church
  10. Road of Bones by Christopher Golden

I’ve seen Daisy Darker on a few lists today, and I couldn’t agree more!

We have two in common this week, The Whispering Muse and Daisy Darker. I see a C. J. Cooke too. I’m currently reading The Lighthouse Witches and am enjoying it so might need to check out this one as well.

Still no Whispering Muse in the US! I just know as soon as I get it from Book Depository or something they will announce it though 😀
