The 1st of June marked the start of the sixth Self Published Fantasy Blog Off (details here.) My Introductory post is here. This year I’m aiming to shine a little bit of focus on some of the books either through posting excerpts to act as teasers for potential readers or through posting some of the covers and highlighting the book that way (not just for my own books but other entries). The invitation is open to all authors from the competition – if you’d like to post an excerpt then give me a shout in the comments.
As part of the competition there was a cover contest. The details can be found here.
So, this week’s chosen SPFBO covers are below. I didn’t have a particular theme this week and in fact just went for three covers that are very different in style but work for me personally. Which is your favourite:
I LOVE the first two!
There are some really good covers this year – it’s so impressive.
Lynn 😀
Black Stone Heart uses a colour palette that you don’t normally see, which really works for me.
I also like the framing of Queens of the Wyrd, and the weary expression on the warrior’s face.
Yes, that colour palette is unusual isn’t it. That was my very thought looking at it but it just works for me too.
I love the cover for Queens of the Wyrd.
Lynn 😀
Another great set of covers. Love the one to Queens of the Wyrd, though I’m pretty fond of the one for Black Stone Heart too (and a fan of the author) 😀
Yes, I’m curious about that Fletcher book. And the Queens of the Wyrd I’m pretty sure has been shortlisted as a SF so far.
Lynn 😀
These are all interesting in different ways, can’t really pick a favorite out of them. 🙂
They’re very different aren’t they – I couldn’t choose either.
Lynn 😀
Ooh nice. I REALLY like those first two a lot!
They are lovely – and so very different in many ways.
Lynn 😀
All three covers are fantastic – and wouldn’t look out of place on in a traditional publisher’s list – indie authors are really upping their game with their covers!
Yes indeed, the covers are so impressive, and not just for this year.
Lynn 😀
