Weekly Wrap Up : 8th March 2020
I hope you’ve all had a good week this week. I’ve been doing some gardening this week which seems to take up a lot of time once I get going. That being said I’ve managed to fit in 3 books and I’ve also started a fourth. Here’s what I’ve been reading:
- Starsight by Brandon Sanderson (audio) – I have made progress and I’m really enjoying it so should finish it probably Monday.
- The Deep by Alma Katsu
- Beggar’s Rebellion (Resonant Saga #1) by Levi Jacobs. My review is here.
What I’m reading next week:
- The Rage of Dragons by Evan Winter
- Smoke Bitten by Patricia Briggs
- Keep Him Close by Emily Koch
Upcoming Reviews:
- King of the Road by RS Belcher
- Queenlayer by Sebastien DeCastell
- The Absinthe Earl by Sharon Lynn Fisher
- King of Assassins by RJ Barker
- Starsight by Brandon Sanderson (audio) – I have made progress and I’m really enjoying it so should finish it probably Monday.
- The Deep by Alma Katsu
I’d love to know what you’re reading this week.
I’ve been trying to leave comments all week so I’m hoping that this computer makes it possible (it has on some others). Maybe they’ve landed in spam because I’ve been told that as well. I am anxious to hear your thoughts on The Deep as I’m now very afraid to pick it up after seeing some other reviews. Especially since I didn’t like The Hunger. Hope you have a wonderful reading week!
Gardening sounds like a lovely activity, I may have to do some too. Enjoy your books this week!
Gardening is lovely -but also strangely strenuous. I’m sure I’d be fitter than a fiddle if I gardened everyday!
Lynn 😀
Hey Lynn, this week I finished reading the historical, murder-mystery, The Poison Bed by E. C. Fremantle, which at first was a slow burn read but then came a twist which had me so gripped I stayed up Saturday night/Sunday morning to finish it! Now I have started reading the children’s classic The Marvelous Land of Oz by Frank L Baum. Happy reading in the coming week! 🙂
Happy reading to you to Jessica – I can’t wait to read your review for The Poison bed.
Lynn 😀
Great selection of books, I’m going to watch out for your upcoming reviews.
Thank you 😀
That cover for The Deep is so beautiful. I kinda want to read it purely because of how beautiful it is!
It is a lovely cover and if you enjoy historical drama then I think you should give it a shot.
Lynn 😀
I do really love Historical drama. Hopefully I’ll be able to pick it up this year!
Yes – we managed to get out in the garden on Saturday morning, which was so much fun. It helped me bounce back! I also have Starsight waiting for me to read, next and I’m really looking forward to it:)). Have a great week, Lynn!
Starsight was great, it really was. I hope you love it.
Lynn 😀
I’m looking forward to getting to it later this month:))
Goodness, Keep Him Close looks good…why had I not heard of this before! *adds to my thriller list*
Mmm, well, this could just be me, but I’ve put that one down for now. It’s a little bit more drama than murder mystery/thriller – or at least to where I’ve read to. Maybe I need to give it another shot but for now it wasn’t grabbing me the way I’d hoped.
Lynn 😀
Enjoy your reading!
I’m currently reading Red sister and listening to Sawkill girls 🙂

I’ll look out for your reviews for those.
Lynn 😀
I’m trying to find a way for my posts to post – I think I’m ending up in your spam. I created a WordPress account just so I could post on a few of my regular stops. That being said – hello! It’s Barb @ Booker T’s Farm 🙂
I can’t wait to see your review of The Deep. I’m really worried after seeing some reviews – especially since I didn’t enjoy The Hunger. I really want to read the Sanderson series at some point. Is this the one with something called “Doomslug.” I think I’ll love it.
I’m almost finished with When We Were Vikings. It’s not bad but I’m describing it as a contemporary masking as a fantasy!
Yes, Doomslug – it’s such a good series.
The Deep – not sure it’s for you.
Sorry you’ve been having problems, I found a bunch of comments in my spam and war horrified that you’d think I was ignoring you!
Lynn 😀
Oooh, gardening! Yesterday was so nice out here, truly like Spring, and I had to urge to run out and buy new flowers but it’s still a bit early yet (also thank goodness because I need to save my money lol).
Looks like a pretty good week in books. Looking forward to your thoughts on the new Mercy Thompson book!
I enjoyed the Mercy book, I had a little moment where I was feeling ‘same old’ but then PB pulled it out of the hat and it certainly feels like it’s setting up for something really big.
Lynn 😀
