Weekly Wrap Up : 3rd November 2019
Finally, I’m back to my weekly wrap ups. Did I mention that I had issues in October? No??? Only joking, I’m not going into it again I promise but it is good to get back to a weekly recap because I seriously need these to try and keep me on track – it might not always work but for the most part it keeps me focused. Anyway, hope you’ve all had a good week and that you have another good one this forthcoming week.
I’m also on my final batch of SPFBO books and in fact have made my way through the first four. Just two more books and then I’ll be posting feedback. So, what have I read since my last weekly recap,

- The Beautiful by Renée Ahdieh
- Ivory Apples by Lisa Goldstein
- The Absinthe Earl by Sharon Lynn Fisher
- From the Shadows of the Owl Queen’s Court by Benedict Patrick
- Dreadful Company by Vivien Shaw
- Grave Importance by Vivien Shaw
Next scheduled reads:
- Songs From the Deep by Kelly Powell
- Dark Pattern by Andrew Mayne
- Angel Mage by Garth Nix
Upcoming Reviews

I’d love to know what you’re reading this week.
I hope you enjoyed Ivory Apples, it was one of my favorite reads this year!
It was a lovely read tbh – I loved the idea behind it all.
Lynn 😀
Lynn, I am pleased to see your Weekly Wrap Up posts restored to normal service. Since I have started doing WWW Wednesday and reinstated my Sunday Reflection posts, I have found they help keep me focused too. This week, I haven’t finished any books but I have made great progress through The Golden Antilles by Tim Severin, a fascinating history into the dangerous obsession with the treasure of South America and the Caribbean. Happy reading this week! 🙂
You too Jessica 😀
Really looking forward to your reviews on like ALL of these books!
Hopefully i’ll catch up sooner or later.
Lynn 😀
Wow! You read a lot! I hope you like Songs From The Deep.
Nope – I have to confess – I haven’t done a weekly review for a while so those books are carried over – my bad.
Lynn 😀
You still did awesome. 🙂
I just added the first book from Andrew Mayne’s series to my TBR: after all the enthusiastic reviews I read, I knew I could not wait any longer… 🙂
That is a woo hoo moment.
Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on Dark Pattern! There are definitely some things I want to discuss with you about it 😀
Ohh, how intriguing. I’ve just started it. I will no doubt have to DM you!
Lynn 😀
Oh you read a lot last week! Hopefully coming week is just as good!

Well, to be honest, I didn’t read all those books last week – I just haven’t done a weekly wrap up in a while and needed to get back on track.
Lynn 😀
Looking forward to your thoughts on Angel Mage as I have it on my TBR pile too 🙂 And those Vivian Shaw books look like something I might need to check out as well.
Actually, I think you would love the Vivian Shaw books. UF, set in London (at the start), really good humour and references to other fantasy works throughout the ages. I think they’re a great mix of really great characters, settings and unusualness – with Dr Helsing being a carer to the supernatural creatures that live in hiding.
Lynn 😀
Thanks for the recommendation, they definitely sound like something I would enjoy. Am off to check out your review post now to tempt me even more 😀 I wish my TBR list/pile wasn’t already so massive but what’s a few more books, especially if they’re good ones?!
I’m REALLY looking forward to your review of The Beautiful!
It’s quite a good read but not what I was really expecting – which is my own fault tbh. Have you read it?
Lynn 😀
Not yet! The library copy should be coming in any day.
Looking forward to your thoughts on Angel Mage! That’s a book I’m looking forward to. 🙂
I’ve not started it yet but it’s my next read.
Lynn 😀
