Why do I make reading plans? I don’t know why – foolish inconsistency perhaps. Anyway, August is racing by like a man on a mission and the best laid plans of mine are going to hell in a handcart. Never mind, I will press on undeterred. Last week I read two books – reviews to follow very soon.
My books:
- Lord of Secrets by Breanna Teintze
- The Truants by Kate Weinberg
I’m also now about two thirds into The House of Sacrifice and I’m hoping to complete that and the following books over the next week:
Next scheduled reads:
- The House of Sacrifice by Anna Smith Spark
- Storm Cursed by Patricia Briggs
- Turning Darkness Into Light by Marie Brennan
Upcoming reviews
- King of the Road by RS Belcher
- Queenslayer by Sebastien DeCastell
- A Little Hatred by Joe Abercrombie
- Cry Havoc by Mike Morris
- Lord of Secrets by Breanna Teintze
- The Truants by Kate Weinberg
I’d love to know what you’re reading this week.
Your plans may have gone to hell but you still read quite a bit! I’m looking forward to your review of The Truants😊
I loved the Truants. Couldn’t stop reading. Review up on Thursday.
Lynn 😀
Lord of Secrets is going to be a birthday gift for my man as he’s a big Brandon Sanderson fan and I think this one has similarities. Great post 😃👍🏻
Thanks, I hope he loves it. It’s an entertaining read.
Lynn 😀
I’m looking forward to hearing what you make of the Marie Brennan – it’s one I need to get hold of! I take the view that my reading schedule isn’t anything of the sort – merely a rough guide as to what I might – or might not manage to get hold of. I hope the coming week is a good one, Lynn:)
Just started the Brennan so fingers crossed. Yeah, I like my schedule, it reminds me what I should be picking up even if I don’t always follow it to the tee.
Lynn 😀
I love those baby dragons coming out of the egg! 🙂
Lord of Secrets looks pretty good!
It was an entertaining read, quite light in many respects and a bit of a slow starter but I had no real issues and the pages seemed to turn fast enough.
Lynn 😀
The Truants looks great!! I too want to know what you think of the Marie Brennan!
I’m in between books right now. Read a fun manga about Chinese food the other day, slowly making my way through a novella. It’s the dog days of summer, I’m taking it slow.
I really is the dog days – everything is rushing past at a frantic speed and yet at the same time everything also has a dreamy quality – what’s that all about.
Lynn 😀
Turning Darkness into Light will be my next read too, I think!
Just literally picked it up.
Lynn 😀
After recently come back off holiday – where I lost myself in the epic fantasy, The Dragon’s Blade: The Last Guardian by Michael R. Miller – I have now plunged headfirst into the epic historical fiction, Queen of the North by Anne O’Brien. Happy reading! 🙂
You too Jessica. I look forward to seeing what you make of Queen of the North.
Lynn 😀
I don’t know why I make reading plans either, LOL. I go off plan A LOT. Turning Darkness into Light was great! Hope you enjoy(ed) it~!
I did enjoy it – need to sort my review out. I loved the style, it’s definitely something that just works for me, but I also really liked Audrey and the story just kind of puts me in mind of a classic style, like Austen.
Lynn 😀
Oooh, Austen.
