Again, I’ve missed a weekly wrap up and so I am combining two weeks in one post. Actually I quite like doing a twofer so perhaps that’s what I’ll do in future – although I’m still torn because the weekly wrap up does keep me more focused and on track. I’ll see – the jury’s still out. Anyway, my reading has been very slow – in fact I had about four days of no reading whatsoever. We’ve been travelling and also spending time with friends so reading has taken something of a backseat. In fairness, slowing down my reading has meant I’m catching up on reviews – so it’s swings and roundabouts. Hopefully my reading will be back to par next week. So, what have I read since my last update:
My books:
- The Red Stained Wings by Elizabeth Bear
- The Fall by Tracy Townsend (RTF)
Next scheduled reads:
- Nocturna by Maya Motayne
- Across the Void by SK Vaughn
- Limited Wish by Mark Lawrence
- The Whisper Man by Alex North
Upcoming reviews
- King of the Road by RS Belcher
- Council by Snorri Kristjansson
- Fire Touched by Patricia Briggs
- The Fall by Tracy Townsend
I’d love to know what you’re reading this week.
Hey, summer is the perfect time to get out and do things. Reading and blogging will always be there waiting😁 I’m so curious to read your review of The Fall. I put it down and read a fast and fun book to take a break, and then last night instead of picking it back up again, I started another book. But I swear that’s it, after this book I’m finishing it off. Encouraging words appreciated 😉
Well, I’ve not written my review yet but it did take me a while to read – that and the Red Stained Wings were both long books and quite heavy going in different ways – I need a fun and light read now. I didn’t love the Fall as much as the Nine – I was trying to figure out why and I think it really comes down to the the Bear and Ann not having as much page time. In a nutshell it’s a very clever read but I missed those two characters.

Ooh that cover for across the void looks really good! Looking forward to your review!

Had a great time with Limited Wish! Also snagged a copy of The Whisper Man this week because it looks so intriguing!
Ooooo, I can’t wait to hear what you think of Across the Void – I just picked that up from the library this weekend. 🙂
It’s nice out finally, it’sgood to get out and about! Travelling is fun too! Gotta enjoy life, right? 🙂
Absolutely – although then I experience feelings of guilt because of commitments!

My reading has slowed down again too. Since your last weekly update, I have only finished reading The Time Machine by H. G. Wells.
Reading the Time Machine is an accomplishment in itself really – not a quick read is it really.
Lynn 😀
It wasn’t a quick read, but then again it wasn’t really that long either.
I should try and reread it at some point – like you say, not that long.
Lynn 😀
