Weekly Wrap Up : 26th May 2019
I’m travelling around at the moment in the Highlands – which are stunning by the way – but with very little wifi where I’m staying – I’m tethering my phone to write up posts where possible but it takes forever to open people’s blogs so if I haven’t visited you that’s why – I haven’t disappeared off the face of the earth, been swallowed by a dragon or expired under an ever increasing tbr. In fact that’s why there was no weekly wrap up last week! So, two weeks in one. I’ve read five books in the past two weeks. In other news the SPFBO has concluded and the winner is Orconomics by J Zachary Pike: Here are my reads:
My books:
- The Poison Song by Jen Williams
- We Ride the Storm by Devin Madson
- Orconomics by J Zachary Pike
- Council by Snorri Kristjansson
- Fire Touched by Patricia Briggs
Next week’s reads:
- Nocturna by Maya Motayne
- The Red Stained Wings by Elizabeth Bear
- Across the Void by SK Vaughn
Upcoming reviews
- Dark Shores by Danielle L. Jensen
- King of the Road by RS Belcher
- The Poison Song by Jen Williams
- Council by Snorri Kristjansson
- Fire Touched by Patricia Briggs
I’d love to know what you’re reading this week.
Sounds like you’re having a wonderful trip😁 I’m in the middle of four days off work and its glorious. I’ve read two books already and starting a third today. I’m finally caught up on Goodreads!
Woohoo – it’s so good having a lovely well earned break. We’re enjoying our travels – it’s been very dodgy getting wifi and in some places there is simply no signal whatsoever but I suppose that’s the price you pay for being in such a naturally beautiful but remote place.
Lynn 😀
Re-reading Good Omens before it debuts on Amazon Prime Friday. Also doing the audiobook of Doctor Who and the Terror of the Autons
I didn’t realise that Good Omens was almost upon us – I have read the book so I’m okay – it wasn’t too long ago so hopefully I don’t need a reread.

Five books read in two weeks while traveling? That is really good! Much more progress than I would have made for sure 😀 I hope you’re enjoying the sights and sounds!
I’m loving it tbh. I usually have about five books every two weeks – I read two and start another so the first week I have two books and the second I usually complete the one I’d started and so have three – although it does depend on length. I know what you mean, I don’t usually read as much when I’m travelling but in the evening, because the wifi has been so dodgy I’m catching up with reading – the downside is that I’m getting behind with the blogging. #can’twin.
Lynn 😀
Enjoy your reading!
I’m planning on reading some arcs that I have for June 🙂

That sounds like a cunning plan 😀

Great to hear you are enjoying the Highlands, Lynn 🙂 During the last week, I finished reading the gripping historical fiction By Sword and Storm by Margaret Skea and I finally finished the looong but great biography: Jane Austen At Home by Lucy Worsley.
I like the sound of that historical fiction if it was so gripping – look forward to checking out your review.
Lynn 😀
It would be appropriate too, as it is about the Scottish Munroe family 🙂
Quite right 😀
Ah, the Highlands! It’s been a long while since I went there, but those beautiful landscapes are still fresh on my mind… Have a great holiday!!!!!! 🙂
It really is quite stunning tbh – I’m enjoying it a great deal. Shame about the wifi but you have to adjust your expectations if you want the remote and breathtaking landscapes.
Lynn 😀
Looks like you had a great week! Oooh, the Higlands! I hope you had a great trip. 🙂
Thanks – the Highlands is so gorgeous – I can’t recommend it enough.
