Read all About It: Wyrd and Wonder

Dragon – by kasana86
Wyrd and Wonder is an event that runs during the month of May and celebrates all things fantasy.
There are no strings attached to this event. You can contribute as much as you like, join in with readalongs, topple your tbrs, watch and discuss movies or just generally get involved in any other way you fancy.
More details of the event can be found here and the Twitter account is @wyrdandwonder .
In terms of my books for the month I’ll be hoping to read and review:
- A Brightness Long Ago by Guy Gavriel Kay
- The Poison Song (The Winnowing Flame Trilogy 3) by Jen Williams
- Council by Snorri Kristjansson
-
The Fall by Tracy Townsend
Probably more but I’m erring on the side of caution.
I’ll also be reading my final two finalists for the SPFBO competition and in fact the winner should be announced at the end of the month so that will be really interesting. More details of the SPFBO finalists here.
On top of that I’m hoping to undertake a personal challenge – I’ve not decided exactly what yet.
I hope you all take part and I look forward to all the discussions and sharing of everything that is fantastic.
Thanks for spotlighting this! I hope to be able to participate this year, and maybe use Wyrd and Wonder as a prompt to move forward with some of the series I’m enjoying, like Abraham’s Dagger and the Coin, and Gwynne’s Faithful and the Fallen. And maybe some new discovery as well, who knows? 🙂
Well, it seems that this is one of those events that is right up our street – we read these sorts of books after all. You should highlight some of your short stories too.
Lynn 😀
Oh my goodness – Abraham’s Dagger and Coin series is so, so awesome! You should definitely read/ review some of that! 🙂
I think I’m going to participate, wait I think I already signed up? It sounds like fun, and since I already have fantasy review books to read, it shouldn’t be that hard😁
You did 🙂
I plan to participate too if things aren’t too busy for me.
Also, I recently started A Brightness Long Ago. So far so good, but am only a few pages in.
Excellent – I’m really looking forward to picking that one up.
Lynn 😀
Oh, this sounds like an event for me since that’s kinda what I do anyway haha. 😀
My very thought. Win:win.
That’s the goal – everybody wins! 😀
Yay 😀
Wyrd and Wonder sounds great – I’ll look out for it, but I don’t think I shall be taking part as I’ve rather a lot on my plate right now. I, too, have The Poison Song and am looking forward to reading it:)).
Hope we both love it – I’m sure we will if track record is anything to go by.
Lynn 😀
Yes! I’m so looking forward to it – thanks to you, Lynn:))
Yay! I signed up, but I haven’t decided what I’m going to read. I think I’m going to wing it and hope to make it through as many books as possible.
Winging it is good – in fact I often prefer to keep my options open with events.
Lynn 😀
I’ve heard of this event, but have never participated. Sounds fun, maybe I’ll sign up this year!
joiiiiiiin usssssss 😉
Well your usual reading material does fit in very well.
Lynn 😀
Yay! I signed up for this too and I can’t wait! Fantasy Fun!! 😀
Yep, lots of fantasy fun 😀
Wyrd and Wonder sounds awesome! Thanks for sharing I will have to check it out!
Yes, definitely check it out – it’s perfect for your reading 😀
I’m really looking forward to Wyrd and Wonder this year! And I hope to manage to read something buy Guy Gavriel Kay, sooner or later!
[…] but I kept seeing it EVERYWHERE and its fantasy and I want to do it! (You can blame credit Kathy, Lynn, and Tammy for letting me know about […]
