Friday Face Off : “Heavy is the head that wears the crown”

Here we are again with the Friday Face Off meme created by Books by Proxy . This is a great opportunity to feature some of your favourite book covers. The rules are fairly simple each week, following a predetermined theme (list below) choose a book, compare a couple of the different covers available for that particular book and choose your favourite. Future week’s themes are listed below – the list has been updated to help out those of you who like to plan ahead – if you have a cover in mind that you’re really wanting to share then feel free to leave a comment about a future suggested theme. This week’s theme:
“Heavy is the head that wears the crown” – A cover featuring a crown

[…] UK and US book covers and decide which is we prefer. This meme is currently being nurtured by Lynn’s Book Blog and the subject this week featuring on any of our covers is a CROWN, so I’ve selected Three Dark […]
Yes, I have to go with your choice today. Although I actually prefer the gold popping against the black cover, I really object to that nasty round sticker right in the middle of the artwork – why DO they do that?? I understand wanting to let readers know the book is special in some way, but would it kill them to place in a corner instead of RIGHT in the middle of the artwork?
*deep breath* So sorry to rant on your blog – how rude of me! I loved choosing this week – you’re right in that crowns are definitely a thing on covers, aren’t they? And there isn’t a wrong ‘un here, they are all great:)
The second cover in the first row is a good one as well, in addition to your choice: I like the positioning of the crown over the knife – very, very dramatic! 🙂
I prefer the one with black background. The purple one with the crown on the empty throne is very cool looking too.
My fave is definitely the second one in the top row. This is a popular choice this week and rightfully so. It’s what immediately came to my mind as well.

Great choice! Tho I like the black cover slightly better than the white
Wow, I’ve read this book and seen this cover all around for the last year, but only know did I realize there’s a crown at the corner there! Shows how observant I am 😀
Great pick! I still have this in my TBR pile and hope to get to it before the end of the year. Clock’s ticking I guess, haha. 🙂
