Here we are again with the Friday Face Off meme created by Books by Proxy .   This is a great opportunity to feature some of your favourite book covers.  The rules are fairly simple each week, following a predetermined theme (list below) choose a book, compare a couple of the different covers available for that particular book and choose your favourite.   Future week’s themes are listed below – the list has been updated to help out those of you who like to plan ahead – if you have a cover in mind that you’re really wanting to share then feel free to leave a comment about a future suggested theme. This week’s theme:

“He had killed man, the noblest game of all, and he had killed in the face of the law of club and fang.” – A cover featuring a wolf or wolves

I had a couple of books in mind but I discounted them because I’ve used them previously.  Instead I’ve gone for The Wolves of Winter by Tyrell Johnson.  Not a lot of covers for this one but nonetheless, a book I enjoyed  My review is here.

  1. Friday Faceoff – A wolf doesn’t concern himself with the opinions of sheep… #Brainfluffbookblog | Brainfluff

[…] UK and US book covers and decide which is we prefer. This meme is currently being nurtured by Lynn’s Book Blog and the subject this week featuring on any of our covers is a WOLF. I’ve selected Wolf Brother […]

  2. sjhigbee

Oh yes – I’m with you. That is a beautiful cover. I also quite like the wolf1 cover, too…

    • @lynnsbooks

I like the coldness that the first cover makes me feel – but I prefer the bluer version because I kind of feel like the trees have been lost in the blizzard. I love that kindle cover though.
      Lynn 😀

  3. Barb (boxermommyreads)

Yay! A book I’ve read. I agree with you on the cover and this is such a good book. I enjoyed it a lot.

    • @lynnsbooks

It was a very good read wasn’t it – i’ve not seen that cover before and I love it.
      Lynn 😀

  4. Carmen

    Yes, definitely! 🙂

  5. Tammy

It’s a toss up for me between #2 and #3, but I do love the one you picked. Great choice!

    • @lynnsbooks

Thanks – I know what you mean – I prefer the third to the first cover, even though they’re so similar – the trees are more defined, they’ve almost disappeared in the whiter version.
      Lynn 😀

  6. Literary Feline

Oh yes, I agree with you. I love your favorite too! I also like the third one quite a bit too.

This is my second time participating–is it okay to choose books without the theme word(s) in the title? I have been focusing more on cover art itself, regardless of the title.

    Here’s mine this week:

    • @lynnsbooks

Oh Yes, definitely, sometimes the prommpt might say a cover with the word ‘xxx’ in the title but otherwise choose whatever title you so wish 😀
      Thanks for taking part 😀

  7. waytoofantasy

I love that cover (the one you picked). Maybe because I like blue so much lol.

    • @lynnsbooks

The colours are really lovely – and it’s just so eye catching.
      Lynn D

  8. Jackie

I never read the book but I wish I had. I love the cover you chose!

    • @lynnsbooks

It’s a gorgeous cover isn’t it – I totally fell for it and I would pick it up in a heartbeat.
      Lynn 😀

  9. maddalena@spaceandsorcery

That would have been my choice as well: it’s very eye-catching!

    • @lynnsbooks

I love it – I think I danced a little happy dance when I saw it. I’ve thought of using this book before but the covers weren’t really very different.
      Lynn 😀

  10. Friday Face Off: Wolf / Wolves – Perfectly Tolerable

[…] This is a weekly meme created by Books by Proxy, but currently run by Lynn’s Book Blog. […]

  11. Mogsy @ BiblioSanctum

I love your winner pick as well! I only know of the third cover up there – glad to know a “wolfy” cover actually exists for this book 😀

    • @lynnsbooks

Yeah, I think I’ve looked before and this cover wasn’t available – I was really pleased when I saw it.
      Lynn 😀

  12. jessicabookworm

Lynn, I have not heard of this book, but I absolutely love your cover choice – it’s gorgeous!
