Friday Face Off : ‘“Come buy our orchard fruits, Come buy, come buy’

Here we are again with the Friday Face Off meme created by Books by Proxy . This is a great opportunity to feature some of your favourite book covers. The rules are fairly simple each week, following a predetermined theme (list below) choose a book, compare a couple of the different covers available for that particular book and choose your favourite. Future week’s themes are listed below – the list has been updated to help out those of you who like to plan ahead – if you have a cover in mind that you’re really wanting to share then feel free to leave a comment about a future suggested theme. This week’s theme:
‘“Come buy our orchard fruits, Come buy, come buy’ – A cover featuring a goblin or dwarves
This was a struggle. I had a couple of books in mind with my fingers crossed that one of the covers might have had a goblin or a dwarf but unfortunately that wasn’t the case so I’m going with a favourite. The Hobbit by JRR Tolkien. I’ve gone for slightly different covers from usual so here they are.
My covers:
There are many covers for the Hobbit as you may be able to imagine. I’ve kept myself within some restraints. My favourite from these covers is:

Which is your favourite?

I came really close to using this one because I have at least read the books and I do like many of the covers. I went with one that has been on my TBR pile awhile though–and I’m afraid I am not a big fan of any of the covers. Oh well! My first time participating and I couldn’t pick a favorite. Haha Anyway, I am glad to be participating just the same and look forward to next week. 🙂 Thanks for hosting, Lynn!

I was struggling this week – I’ve probably used this book before, Tolkien seems to be my fallback position for some many memes! Still, if the boot fits!
lynn 😀
I agree with your pick. Love the blue, and the dragon and the silhouettes
No doubt I’d have a different choice if I’d used more covers but I really like that one.
Lynn 😀
Yes, I totally agree. 🙂
Of course with so many different covers to choose from (not displayed here) it could be a completely different story.
Lynn 😀
I agree with your choice of cover. I like that one the best because it shows two dwarves maybe Gimli? And Frodo? And Gandalf along with Smaug the Terrible.
So many covers for this book – which isn’t a surprise – but, yes, I think that cover is great.
Lynn 😀
I think I would have gone with this one too if I hadn’t come up with anything else. Of the covers featured here, I think your winner is my favorite too 😀
I love the cover, the silhouettes and the dragon. I am fire.
Lynn 😀
So many covers! There are about five covers that I’m in love with here for different reasons. I like the one you picked because it feels the most in line with the story, but I do like some of the others as well. So hard to pick!
This book has so many covers. So many. So this might be my favourite from this batch – but who knows. It was a perfect book for the theme and tbh I struggled to come up with anything else.
Lynn 😀
Ooo great book choice Lynn 😀 There are many great covers here I have never seen before too! I still love the classic cover (third on the bottom row) but I am also loving the simple tree cover (second on the bottom row) and your winner.
Yeah, that tree cover is lovely.
Lynn 😀
