Weekly Wrap Up : 04/03/18
Hi everyone. For those of you having to put up with the Beast from the East I hope it hasn’t been too bad a week. I must say I’ve seen some pretty funny pictures on twitter with polar bears stood outside cars and the like. I suppose you have to do whatever to make it easier. Anyway, I’ve not read much this week. I did read the fabulous Kin which I should have a review of up tomorrow – vikings and murder mystery – what’s not to like. We did watch Citizen Kane – I didn’t love it as much as I hoped to. It was okay. We also started watching Breaking Bad again because we never completed the series. And, the beauty of slowing down with my reading means that I’m catching up with reviews. So, to my books:
Books read:
- Kin by Snorri Kristjansson – which I loved.
Next Week’s Reads:
- Planetfall by Emma Newman
- The Bitter Twins by Jen Williams – I’m already 30% into this one. It took me a little while to pick up the threads but I’m back on track now
- Master Assassins by Robert VS Redick – I’m about 50% into this one and loving it.
- Looking Glass by Andrew Mayne
Upcoming reviews:
- Starborn by Lucy Hounsom
- Envy of Angels by Matt Wallace
- The Chrysalids by John Wyndham (Vintage Sci Fi book)
- Semiosis by Sue Burke
- Between the Blade and the Heart by Amanda Hocking
- Kin by Snorri Kristjansson
I’d love to know what you’re reading this week.
I wish Kin was available in the US. I think it’s only UK right now. Can’t wait to read your review!
Ahh, I hadn’t realised. Hopefully it will reach you soon. I’ve not read Snorri before but I certainly will do so again and I think he must be planning more of these – given the ending.
Lynn 😀
I like the sound of Kin – I look forward to hearing what you make of it, Lynn. And I’m very keen to see what you make of Planetfall, too! Have a good week:)
I’m looking forward to Planetfall too.
Lynn 😀
I’m curious about Master Assassins! 🙂
Very good so far.
Lynn 😀
Some good cold weather reading! Enjoy.
Thanks – fingers crossed.
Lynn ;D
I’m beyond ecstatic that you enjoyed Kin! I’ve been eyeing that one…onto the wishlist it goes!
I thought it was really good. Just addictive and having a book in that era with a murder mystery. It brings such a different element to the story because it isn’t a police procedure type book, there’s no crime scenes or looking for evidence as such, it’s really basic and there’s an underlying threat of brutal retribution.
Lynn 😀
The little teaser over the title of “Kin” is enough to make me want to read it, but I will wait for your review to learn more… 🙂
It was very good.
