Weekly Wrap Up : 14/01/18
Hope everyone’s had a good week. I’ve not read as much as I planned. I’ve completed The Girl in the Tower (which was an enchanting read) and I’m about 40% through The War of Undoing which is my first SPFBO book. I’ve also read about 25% of Anthony Ryan’s The Waking Fire as part of the Fantasy Hive’s reading club and so far this is very intriguing and a great read.
Books read:
- The Girl in the Tower by Katherine Arden (which I’ve already started and reads beautifully)

Next Week’s Reads:
- The War of Undoing by Alex Perry (my first SPFBO book)
- Start The Chrysalids by John Wyndham (Vintage Sci Fi book)
- The Feed by Nick Clark Windo
Upcoming reviews:
- Starborn by Lucy Hounsom
- Envy of Angels by Matt Wallace
- The Girl in the Tower by Katherine Arden
I’d love to know what you’re reading this week.
14 January 2018
It’s been a long time since I read Windham’s The Chrysalids (at least 35 years, if not more) but I do remember it as one of my very first forays into post-apocalyptic fiction, so I’m more than looking forward to your review! 🙂
I’m excited to read it tbh.
Lynn 😀
I wish i could read this many books in a week… most of the time i can’t even finish one.
I want to read more John Wyndham, constantly. He’s my favourite. But i also want to make them last forever…
Haha – the old conundrum of racing to finish a story that you’re loving at the same time as not wanting it to end.
Lynn 😀
This is a great list – I LOVED The Chrysalids when I read it a very long time ago… I very much hope you like it. The Girl in the Tower sounds great:). I hope you have a really enjoyable week, Lynn.
The Girl in the Tower was even better than the first book.
Hope you have a lovely week too.
Lynn 😀
I must get hold of The Girl in the Tower – glad you enjoyed it so much, Lynn:)
Oh yes – you must get hold of a copy.
Lynn 😀
Can’t wait for your review of The Girl in the Tower. I liked it even more than the first one!
Me too. It was so good.
Lynn 😀
Looking forward to your review of The Girl in the Tower because I can’t wait to read that book myself. I also requested The Feed from the library, so will be interested to hear what you make of that one.
Enjoy your reading 🙂
Thanks. The Girl in the Tower was brilliant. Even better than No.1 so I hope you get to read it soon.
Lynn 😀
Nothing finished this time but I am mere pages away from the end of Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus by Nabeel Qureshi. I have Sandokan, The Pirates of Malaysia by Emilio Salgari and The Plague Charmer by Karen Maitland lined up to start soon. Happy reading!
I still need to read Karen Maitland. This year maybe 😀
I’m so pleased that you liked The Girl in the Tower! Haven’t read it yet myself but I’m quite excited to do so soon. 🙂
I liked it more than the first – which I seriously didn’t expect to happen.
Lynn 😀
