Here we are again with the Friday Face Off meme created by Books by Proxy . This is a great opportunity to feature some of your favourite book covers. The rules are fairly simple each week, following a predetermined theme (list below) choose a book, compare a couple of the different covers available for that particular book and choose your favourite. Future week’s themes are listed below. This week’s theme:
Snap! – a cover featuring a double image or reflection
This week I’ve chosen Sisters Red (Fairytale Retellings #1) by Jackson Pearce:
There’s definitely a theme going on here! My favourite, just for the striking colours of the cover:

Which is your favourite?
Next week – a cover featuring snow
Future themes:
24th November 2017 – ‘I wonder if the snow loves the trees and fields, that it kisses them so gently’ – a cover featuring snow
1st December 2017 – The pen is mightier than the sword – a cover featuring a fancy font
8th December 2017 – ‘Do not go gentle’ – a cover featuring the night…
15th December 2017 – Hubble bubble toil and trouble – a cover featuring a portion/perfume bottle
Stunning, the one you have chosen. Did you like the book? I am looking for some good retellings.
I did like it – it was quite a while ago when I read it but my remaining impressions are YA and not with the usual gorgeous were-creatures – they were smelly and really quite nasty beasts. Not sure how I’d feel about it now as I’ve kind of gone off YA a little but I do recall enjoying it. Sarah Pinborough did three excellent short books – Poison/Beauty/Charm – they’re twisted retellings that mash up quite a number of different tales into the series.
Lynn 😀
I will check them out. Thanks! smelly and nasty beasts hahaha.
Definitely not the sort of beasts that it is intended you fall in love with! No sparkly vampires or hench wolverines.
Lynn 😀
😀 sounds exciting!
I am enjoying Sarah Pinborogh’swork. Thanks for the recommendations, Lynn.
No worries – I love her books.
I agree, though I also like the third one on top.
Yeah, that’s nice too. 😀
Sisters Red was my favorite as well
Thanks 😀
I love your book choice, Lynn – what a stunning collection of covers. Though I’m going to go all old fashioned and a tad girlie on you – I prefer that beautiful Red4 in the forest. The detail and the fact you cannot see their faces nails it for me…
Nothing wrong with a bit of old fashioned and ‘girlie’ – tbh these covers are all pretty good.
Lynn 😀
I haven’t read this but I agree with you cover choice; its gorgeous!
It’s very dramatic isn’t it.
Lynn 😀
Very!
[…] I found this weekly meme over on The Bibliosanctum. It looks super fun so I figured I would give it a shot! It looks like the original creator was Books by Proxy, but it is now kept going by Lynn’s Book Blog. […]
I like your choice, as well as the first one!
That first one seems to be well liked –
Lynn 😀
