My Weekly Wrap Up 5/11/17
“Remember remember the fifth of November”
November is here and, although I hate to say it there are now only 7 weeks till Christmas – ahhhhhhhhhhh! Okay, nobody panic, 7 weeks = 49 days (I can do maths) 49 days seems like a long way away doesn’t it. Lets stick with 49, a strangely satisfying number.
I’ve had a busy week this week but not in terms of books – I’ve only managed to read one of my planned books – The Nine by Tracy Townsend – which is really good and I highly recommend. Expertly plotted, great characters, dark urban fantasy, downright creepy and set in a world that gives me Dickensian vibes.
Anyway, hope you all had a good week.
Last week’s reads:
- The Nine by Tracy Townsend

Next week’s reads:
- Hero Risen, Seeds of Destiny by Andy Livingstone
- Artemis by Andy Weir
Upcoming reviews:
- A Matter of Blood by Sarah Pinborough
- Starborn by Lucy Hounsom
- Spellslinger 2: Shadowblack by Sebastien De Castell
- Dogs of War by Adrian Tchaikovsky
- Weave a Circle Round by Kari Maaren
- The Nine by Tracy Townsend
Let me know what you’re reading this week.

Me too, I read The Nine last week and WOW. Seriously one of new favorite books! I just started Into the Drowning Deep and WOW. Love it so far! I think this is going to be a great month for reading😁
I loved it. The characters, the place, the plot, it’s kind of detailed but it just worked so well – and I figured out what was going on fairly early on but it really didn’t matter.
I envy you The Nine and I also like the look of Hero Risen. I’m with Tammy – I think it’s going to be a bumper year:)
I hope so – The Nine was certainly brilliant!
Lynn 😀
I need to get hold of it…
I’m looking forward to your Dogs of War review. I think I saw the book here first and I’m really considering ordering a copy. Hope you have a great week!
I really liked it – I thought it would be very military in tone and the start certainly feels like that but it’s a much deeper book than that tbh. It turns into a fight (legal) about rights and then goes even further. And, surprisingly, for me, I loved the characters – Rex makes for very good reading. Emotional and thought provoking.
Lynn 😀
I just started reading Artemis, and The Nine is hopefully next! I’m so excited to hear both you and Tammy loved it!
The Nine was awesome. I’m about a third into Artemis now. Intriguing so far.
Lynn 😀
The Nine is one of the titles I’m most curious about, and I see I’m in good company there! 🙂
Yeah, it was so good.
