Weekly Wrap Up : 15/10/17
Last week simply flew by for me, I don’t know why. I’ve finally managed to update my SPFBO challenge – and today will post about my next five books which I’ve already started to read. I went off plan a little bit with my reading schedule. I did read one of my scheduled books but then I went and read one of my TBR books which I thoroughly enjoyed. Here’s what I read last week:
- The Stone in the Skull by Elizabeth Bear
- A Matter of Blood by Sarah Pinborough
This week I’m hoping to undergo some catching up with review books that I’ve got a little behind with and so I’m thinking of reading:
- Spellslinger and Spellslinger 2: Shadowblack by Sebastien De Castell
- Hero Risen, Seeds of Destiny by Andy Livingstone

Upcoming reviews:
- Deadlands: Boneyard by Seanan McGuire
- The Stone in the Skull by Elizabeth Bear
- The Crow Garden by Alison Littlewood
- The Beautiful Ones by Silvia Moreno-Garcia
- A Matter of Blood by Sarah Pinborough
Hope you have a lot of good reading to look forward to.
Let me know what you’re reading.

oh wow, I love the covers of those Spellslinger books. I’ll keep an eye out for your reviews 🙂
The covers are really lovely – looking forward to picking them up this week.
Lynn 😀
I’m reviewing Boneyard this week too. I had such a fun time with it!
It was good. Full of atmosphere.
I can’t wait to read the review of the new McGuire book!
From the synopsis it looks as if she’s opened another narrative path: no two books she writes are alike, and that’s one of the reasons I enjoy her stories so much 🙂
I really liked it – she’s such a good story teller and I love the way she develops her characters. She always makes me feel something for them – whether Like them or not!
Lynn 😀
Yeah, I went a little off plan to when I got hooked on Queens of Conquest, which just meant to be my non-fiction read on the side! But I’ve finished that now and I am back to enjoying a re-read of The Subtle Knife 🙂 Happy reading!
p.s. I am loving the Spellslinger covers ❤
They are lovely covers aren’t they – I love that they have two images – almost like a mirror.
Lynn 😀
I think you’re in for a real treat with the Spellslinger series:). And I also am looking forward to reading your review of A Matter of Blood. Have a great week, Lynn.
I’ve already read the first and loved it. I’m reading another book now rather than read it straight after but then I’m going straight onto No.2
Lynn 😀
I think that’s a wise move. I very rarely read two books by the same author, because that gives me time to home onto their stylistic ‘tics’ which I invariably find annoying after a while. And it limits my enjoyment. I thought Shadowblack even better:))
Ooh, I’m looking forward to what you think of the Sebastien de Castell series! The second book isn’t even available in the US yet, I don’t think. But I snagged the audio editions.
I thought the first one was great and I’ll be picking up No.2 shortly. I didn’t realise these weren’t in the US yet.
Lynn 😀
