‘Mine eyes smell onions; I shall weep anon.’

Here we are again with the Friday Face Off meme created by Books by Proxy . This is a great opportunity to feature some of your favourite book covers. The rules are fairly simple each week, following a predetermined theme (list below) choose a book, compare a couple of the different covers available for that particular book and choose your favourite. Future week’s themes are listed below. This week’s theme:
The world was my oyster but I used the wrong fork (A cover which features food)
This book cover is the only one that I could come up with this week!
My favourite this week:
I’ve had to go with the obvious one this week:

Which is your favourite?
Next week – Insect
Future themes:
25th August 2017 – If I be waspish, best beware my sting (A cover which features an insect)
1st September 2017 – Being born in a stable does not make one a horse (A cover which features a horse)
8th September 2017 – That great condenser of moral chaos, The City (A cover which features a city)
18 August 2017
I go for the apple cover – that’s the one I read, too!
It has an iconic feel really after all this time.
Lynn 😀
Yes… I think the cover with the apple is a clear winner. Funnily enough, I also have apples on my covers, too – but for quite a different book!
I just stopped over and spotted that you’d also used apples – I meant to mention it but of course forgot!
Lynn 😀
That was definitely some brilliant cover design with that apple image – it really became iconic and stood out on shelves. I wonder how much it contributed to the overall success of the book (impossible to say of course, but I’d love to know!).
Exactly – you can’t hear about this book without picturing the cover – it’s synonymous isn’t it. Great design really when it works so well.
Lynn 😀
Oh my god, that apple cover brings back some memories hahaha. Take or leave Twilight, that’s one iconic cover!
It really is!
Lynn 😀
I like your choice too. The Classic 🙂 I really don’t like the movie covers, haha.
I’m not really into movie cover tie ins.
Lynn 😀
Yes, I agree. 🙂
