This week has been excellent, although maybe not in terms of my reading.  Far too much socialising, the weather has been lovely, I’ve been meeting new people and on top of that today was Father’s Day so it was all about family and it was great.  So, excuses, excuses, I’ve not finished my books from last week so I’ve left them on below:

  1. The Court of Broken Knives (Empires of Dust #1)
  2. The Bones of the Earth (Bound Gods #2) by Rachel Dunne

My cover compare this week is Blackwing by Ed McDonald:

Which is your favourite?

How was your week?  What you currently reading?

I’m right behind you with the busy week and minimal reading, it’s just the way of summertime.

Curious to hear what you think of A Court of Broken Knives! I won’t be starting that one until later this summer.

I’ve not read as much as I wanted this week but I’m just around 50 %or slightly more into this one now.

I love the colorful cover of Blackwing as well. I’m curious to hear what you think of both the Court of Broken Knives and Bones of the Earth.

The cover for The Bones of the Earth keeps attracting my attention: that figure caught in a (very athletic!) mid-jump gives the impression of a lively story, the kind that’s difficult to put down… 🙂

I like the cover – definitely athletic! Wouldn’t like to try and strike that pose myself.

I like the cover on the right better, with more red. I want to like the one on the left more, but something about the claws and bird face irk me for some reason.

I also had a busy week and read less than I hoped. After I finished Joanna Hickson’s brilliant historical fiction, First of the Tudors, about Jasper Tudor, I started Pratchett’s hilarious Pyramids.

As for the covers, I like both but I am leaning towards the first one as I spy hints of purple 😉

…and we know how you love purple! Enjoy your weekend.

Glad to hear you enjoyed some nice weather and socializing last week! Did you get more reading done this week?

Totally agree that the second cover is better 🙂

My reading hasn’t been bad this week – although the nice weather does tend to lead to more socialising doesn’t it.
      Lynn 😀
