What an odd week – I’ve been a bit out of the count due to illness so still in need of some catching up.  Reviews just don’t write themselves after all!  My reading this week has been a little bit slow although I did read Meagan Spooner’s Hunted which I loved and think it now takes the top spot for my favourite Beauty and the Beast reimagining.

Last week’s reads:

  1. Hunted by Meagan Spooner

hunted

Currently reading:

  1. Empress of the Fall by David Hair
  2. Defence of Ráth Bládhma (Fionn mac Cumhaill #1) by Brian O’Sullivan (SPFBO book)

And, finally, my cover compare this week:something different – I thought I’d highlight the cover of one of my upcoming reads:

heart

How was your week?  What you currently reading?

I’m sorry that your cold is seriously outstaying its welcome:(. That said, you’ve had some great books – I really like the sound of Hunted. I hope you feel a lot better in the coming week. My Sunday Post – https://sjhigbee.wordpress.com/2017/03/05/sunday-post-5th-march-2017/

Thanks – I’m starting to feel better – and yes, Hunted was brilliant – I loved it.

We could all do with more sunshine, in my view! Glad to hear Hunted was as good as the cover promised:). Another one to add to my teetering TBR pile in due course…

I loved Hunted – review for that one soon!

      • sjhigbee

Ooo… I’m looking forward to reading that one:).

Sorry to hear you’re ill. Hope you feel better.

    • @lynnsbooks

I am feeling better thanks – you can tell I was really under the weather – I only read one book and that was at the end of the week!
      Lynn 😀

If you like Hunted I might actually give it a try! I wasn’t so sure it’d be worth the time. I also really want to read Empress of the Fall.

I loved it – I suspect that some people might think it a little slow but for me it was perfection. Beautiful, magical and a lovely slow burning romance (no instalove thank you!) and also I loved that it weaves a Russian fairytale into the story.

I actually pre-ordered this yesterday after reading your post!! 😀

Gosh, I know how you feel. I caught the worst flu at the end of February and I didn’t feel like reading much so I listened to audiobooks. Ended up falling behind on a lot of reviews, because you got that right, they don’t write themselves! Hope you’re feeling better now 🙂

    • @lynnsbooks

I was wiped out last week – didn’t even read. Behind with reviews. Haha, just one week and everything has fallen to pieces!
      Lynn 😀

Wow. All these books are new to me but, dang, they look good. I hope you are enjoying them all.

  6. Lisa (@TenaciousReader)

    Hope you’re feeling better!

    • @lynnsbooks

Yes thanks – although I’m so far behind now – I’ll catch up eventually but it is amazing how a few days of illness can really throw everything out of sync.

I hope to find that you are feeling better by now? Oooo I am happy to hear that you enjoyed Hunted so much! I didn’t realize it was a B&theB retelling…

    • @lynnsbooks

Yeah, B&tB but with a Russian folklore aspect. Really lovely. I loved it.
      Lynn 😀
