Weekly Wrap Up: 26/2/17
So, February is nearly over. I hope you’ve all had a good month. I’m a little behind with reviews this month so need to do some catching up in that respect. Here’s what else I’ve been up to.
Last week’s reads:
- Windsinger by AFE Smith
- Game of Shadows by Erika Lewis
- The Winter Long by Seanan McGuire – completed the readalong
Currently reading:
- Blood Upon the Sand by Bradley P Beaulieu
- Larcourt by K A Krantz
- Empress of the Fall by David Hair
And, finally, my cover compare this week: normally I compare two of the same covers this week however, there seems to be a lot of blue(ish) covers going on so I’m going to pick my favourite from the covers above:
My favourite cover is this one:

How was your week? What you currently reading?
26 February 2017
I’ve started reading With Blood Upon the Sand as well and enjoying it so far: there are so many layers upon layers of interweaving plots that it’s impossible not to be totally drawn in by the story… 🙂
You have to love this world that Beaulieu has imagined.
Lynn 😀
I’m looking forward to your reviews for Game of Shadows and Windsinger!
To follow shortly – can’t believe I’ve let myself get behind.
Lynn 😀
Wow – I like the look of ALL your books you’ve just completed. Windsinger, in particular, looks interesting. I’m in the middle of Twelve Kings, the first book in the series before Blood in the Sand as I’ve become a tad hooked on desert fantasy:). Have a great week – your books this week look wonderful.
Twelve Kings is so good – I loved it – I look forward to your thoughts on that one.
Lynn 😀
Yes – I’d agree with you. A really meaty, engrossing read that actually feels less so because of the sheer readability – I was shaken when I realised it was 500+ pages I’d just finished reading…
I know, isn’t Empress of the Fall effing gorgeous?! How are you liking it so far? Have you read his first series, the Moontide Quartet? I know Empress is supposed to be the first book of the sequel series, but I’m guessing it can be read with no prerequisites. I haven’t finished Moontide yet (only read the first two books), but I hope I can just jump right in.
I got through three of them! I should finish that series some time. And start his new one.
Well, I haven’t done very well with my reading so far – I’ve been a bit under the weather at the start of this month – bad cold or something and been sleeping – a lot! I haven’t read the other series though – I’m hoping it’s not necessary – I guess I’ll know for sure soon enough.
Lynn 😀
I’m curious to hear what you thought of Game of Shadows. I’ve read the first part of it.,
I thought it was a good tale – to be honest, it reads a little like a boys adventure story.
Lynn 😀
