Below is a quick round up of the books I’ve read during September displayed in covers.  My September in review to follow tomorrow.  This month has been busy so I’m a bit behind again with reviews but hopefully I’ll catch that up pretty quickly.  Anyway here are my August covers:

From my batch of SPFBO books this month I read the following:

And, finally this lovely children’s book that I reviewed as part of a guest post/review for Henry L Herz:

Haha – yes, when I eventually catch up. Working on it now.

Nice book covers! A Deadly Affection looks like it’s something I’d like. Totally adding it to my TBR.

I enjoyed it. It’s a bit out of my usual style of read in that there was no fantasy elements to the story. More a historical murder mystery really with a young woman at it’s core.

I’m looking forward to Chasing Embers – I don’t mind a little thick world-building here and there, very curious about it now 🙂

I think it could be a good series and I look forward to seeing where the author takes this next.

That’s a delightful spread of covers, Lynn:). Looking forward to seeing what you made of Chasing Embers – that book caught my eye, but I was soooo snowed under I couldn’t justify getting hold of it – and I’m also keen to know how you got on with the Wesley Chu book. Have a good week.

I enjoyed Chasing Embers. I do think it’s a very ambitious debut but it’s a great start to a series that I think I would enjoy. The Chu book was brilliant, in fact I’d say it was my favourite of his books that I’ve read. My review will be up soon (hopefully).

Ah, that’s interesting… Thank you for letting me know – I look forward to reading the review.

I know you probably didn’t plan it however there are a lot of Autumnal colours going on in this batch of covers 🙂

I thought exactly the same thing when I put the covers together.
      Lynn 😀
