“That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind…”

Here we are again with the Friday Face Off meme being hosted by Books by Proxy . This is a great opportunity to feature some of your favourite book covers. The rules are fairly simple and can be found here. Each week, following a predetermined theme choose a book, compare a couple of the different covers available for that particular book and choose your favourite. Simples. This week the theme is:
Moonlight drowns out all but the brightest stars – a cover which features the moon.
This week I’ve gone for a book by Tom Lloyd. I’ve read the first in this series and really enjoyed it so I need to catch up. You may also recall this author’s name as he recently brought to us the rather wonderful Stranger of Tempest:
A difficult choice this week. I really like the first cover because it’s from the book that i read – plus the moon really is the star of the show and I like the red font being pictured in its centre. That being said, I love the character on the other character and the covers are really lovely. For me, the character and the greens and purples win out:

Come join us next week’s when the theme is:
May flights of angels lead you on your way. A cover featuring an angel/angels.
5 August 2016
I like your pick best, too. I’m a sucker for green and blue book covers, so they win every time:-)
I just like the way the figure is portrayed as well – plus, yes, the covers are lovely.
Lynn 😀
I prefer the first one.
I have a definite soft spot for it as it’s the one I read.
Lynn 😀
No… I have to say, Lynn – I far prefer the first cover. Though they are both superb. I really like the red font against the pale yellow moon and I think the cover is less cluttered. Awesome choice of book for the moon theme:)).
The red font against the moon is really lovely and striking.
Lynn 😀
I agree with you, Lynn
Thanks 😀
I think I might actually like the first one better. I feel like my eyes can’t decide what to settle/focus on with the other one. Plus I like the foreboding moon.
I do like the first one because it was the one I read but I love the stance of the figure int he second.
Lynn 😀
The first cover would be my choice as well: there is a definite feeling of mystery and… expectation (for want of a better word) in the first cover, that I can’t find in the second one – even if it’s just as good…
I love the character in the second but I do have a soft spot for the first.
Lynn 😀
I like both covers but I agree with your winner as I love the colours.
They are lovely aren’t they.
Lynn 😀
I think I like the first one better. The second is gorgeous too, but I’m not sure I like the choice of the aqua blue/green at the bottom, it would have been nicer to stick with the blue/dark purple 😀
The first one is certainly winning the majority vote this week so you’re in good company.
Lynn 😀
