“Waiting On Wednesday” is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine. Every Wednesday we get to highlight a book that we’re really looking forward to. My book this week is : A Little Knowledge (The Split Worlds #4) by Emma Newman. I’m currently reading this series as part of a readalong organised over on Goodreads. We’re coming up to the end of book 3 and so this book release is perfectly timed!
“A Little Knowledge” is the long-awaited return to Emma Newman’s popular Split Worlds series in which dynastic families feud across the ages, furthering the agendas of their supernatural patrons. Innocents are protected by monsters and the beautiful ones are not what they seem. The Split Worlds is an urban fantasy setting with a dash of noir, fantastical magic, evil faeries, and people just trying to drink their tea in peace.

I was just looking at this series of books on Barnes and Nobel the other day, and was mesmerized by the covers. I prefer this one, with the black border on the top and bottom, opposed to the others (which are still good).
It is a lovely cover and an intriguing series, quite unlike anything else I’ve read. We’ve been reading it as a readalong and it’s sparked some great conversation.

This is one of the series I need to start: the more I hear about it, the more curious I become… 🙂
It is an unusual series. It doesn’t have the same darkness or urgency that the Toby Daye series has. It has an almost gentle regency manners feel but the author has a great way of riling you up about some of the characters and I pretty much enjoy any books that have the world of the fae – this is certainly an unusual premise in that respect.

I did just see it! I’ve requested so I’ll keep my fingers crossed. I need to catch up with a lot of reviews on there though so my stats are not good at the moment – about 71%. I’ve read the books, quite a few actually, but not written the reviews up yet.
