Waiting on Wednesday: Nevernight by Jay Kristof

“Waiting On Wednesday” is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine. Every Wednesday we get to highlight a book that we’re really looking forward to. This week I’m highlighting: Nevernight (The Nevernight Chronicle #1) by Jay Kristoff. This books sounds amazing!
In a land where three suns almost never set, a fledgling killer joins a school of assassins, seeking vengeance against the powers who destroyed her family.
Daughter of an executed traitor, Mia Corvere is barely able to escape her father’s failed rebellion with her life. Alone and friendless, she hides in a city built from the bones of a dead god, hunted by the Senate and her father’s former comrades. But her gift for speaking with the shadows leads her to the door of a retired killer, and a future she never imagined.
Now, Mia is apprenticed to the deadliest flock of assassins in the entire Republic—the Red Church. If she bests her fellow students in contests of steel, poison and the subtle arts, she’ll be inducted among the Blades of the Lady of Blessed Murder, and one step closer to the vengeance she desires. But a killer is loose within the Church’s halls, the bloody secrets of Mia’s past return to haunt her, and a plot to bring down the entire congregation is unfolding in the shadows she so loves.
Will she even survive to initiation, let alone have her revenge?

This was my WoW last week, I haven’t read anything by Jay Kristoff before but this sounds awesome!
This looks really intriguing – I saw it on NetGalley and was tempted, but I’ve got a stack of books to read and review already… Looking foward to hearing how you get on with it.
I am really looking forward to reading this one and can’t wait to see some reviews popping up. That cover is great!
I am SOOO excited for this book! I’m the biggest Jay Kristoff fan ever, so this book is definitely a must read:-)
It does look very cool!
Lynn 😀
Oh yeah, I really want to read this one too! If I’m not mistaken, a book blogger actually designed the typography for the cover, which is pretty badass (I think it was Meg from Cuddlebuggery). 😀
Wow – that’s awesome! I will have to check the out.
Lynn 😀
The premise is a fascinating one, and the author is half of the team that wrote the amazing “Illuminae”: this book has all the numbers to be a great one!
It certainly sounds and looks like something I want! Lynn 😀
I really enjoyed his Lotus War trilogy, that’s enough to make me want to give this one a look 🙂
yeah, I only read the first one and I kick myself for not completing it – but I really do like the sound of this one.
