For the month of May I am going to try and take part in a daily drawing challenge organised by @pabkins and @badaliceshop. These will only be sketches but if you check out the #artitupwithfriends hashtag you’ll see some really excellent pieces of art! Each day the aim is to sketch or draw using the word for the day. Today is ‘Wishes’ and below is a rather terrible sketch but, oh well…. This is a sinister and sweet themed month. Tomorrow’s prompt is ‘Evil Twins’.

I love the three-dimensional quality of the lamp! Well done 🙂
Aww, thank you – I do enjoy my silly sketches
Lynn 😀
Wow, your definition of a ‘rather terrible sketch’ is many times better than anything I could draw 😉 – beautiful!!
Thank you – that’s so nice! If you check out some of the artwork over on twitter you’ll be amazed – makes me feel kind of sheepish but then I figure this is just a bit of fun. I have a very short attention span and have to finish within 15-30 minutes maximum otherwise I’ve just had enough but taking part gives me the opportunity to do a little bit of sketching each day.
Lynn 😀
I’ve got to agree with Ioana, that’s hardly my idea of a terrible sketch! I can do stick people and cubes, that’s about it. Your sketch is making me want to read an Arabian Nights inspired book!
Yay – nothing wrong with stick people – Lowry’s paintings are incredibly expensive these days for example! And cubes – that is my doodle of choice – I love cubes, and spirals – because who doesn’t love spirals?
Lynn 😀
Oh gosh! I wish I had the time to participate. I’ll have to try something similar in the summer. I really like your genie lamp.
Thanks – you should definitely take part! I suppose that’s easy for me to say when I’m only sketching and everyone else is coming up with artwork – but… it’s fun!
I like it! What did you use for the “gold”? I love the metallic, reflective surface you made 🙂
Ta – I bought gold, silver and bronze pens at Christmas (only cheap) and never used them really so I used one of those.
Lynn 😀
Nice and shiny.
All the shiny things 😀
