Waiting on Wednesday: Stranger of Tempest by Tom Lloyd

74757-new2bwow“Waiting On Wednesday” is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine.  Every Wednesday we get to highlight a book that we’re really looking forward to.  This week I’m featuring Stranger of Tempest by Tom Lloyd.  I’ve already read Moon’s Artifice by this author and really enjoyed it.  Check out the gorgeously dramatic cover and the intriguing blurb:

stranger of tempest‘Lynx is a mercenary with a sense of honour; a dying breed in the Shattered Kingdom. Failed by the nation he served and weary of the skirmishes that plague the continent’s principalities, he walks the land in search of purpose. He wants for little so bodyguard work keeps his belly full and his mage-gun loaded. It might never bring a man fame or wealth, but he’s not forced to rely on others or kill without cause. Little could compel Lynx to join a mercenary company, but he won’t turn his back on a kidnapped girl. At least the job seems simple enough; the mercenaries less stupid and vicious than most he’s met over the years. So long as there are no surprises or hidden agendas along the way, it should work out fine.’

Due out I think in June 2016 – so not too long a wait for this one!

That beast is giving me such LOTR flashbacks, it’s a gorgeous cover — and summary! Good choice! Here’s mine: http://editingeverything.com/blog/2016/02/17/wow-comfort-zone/

I really wish they would release his books in the US.

I know – I hope he cracks that market! You’ve got Jen Williams coming to the US now though.
      Lynn 😀

Cool cover! I saw this yesterday somewhere but this is the first time I’ve read the story blurb. Awesome choice:-)

I saw the cover on Books By Proxy a couple of days ago and couldn’t resist a ‘you shall not pass’ comment. Then I saw it on Netgalley so I had to request – probably won’t get a copy but you never know. Nothing ventured… And I really enjoyed Moon’s Artifice.

This does sound awesome. I got declined for a UK version of the ARC, but holding out hope for the NA edition.

I hope you get a copy. I’ve made a request but I’m not really expecting to get lucky with this one.
      Lynn ;D

I like the title of the first one and may give the series a try. Especially if Once Upon a Time happens again this year!

OK. I know I left a comment earlier. Not sure what I did wrong. But they really need to release his books in the US

You did leave a comment – it was weird though because it needed approving??
Odd! My machine is a maniac. It has a mind of it’s own.
      Lynn 😀

Not long for you to wait, but probably longer for us in the States. Unless…to the Book Depository! 😀
