To be continued…
Every Tuesday over at the The Broke and Bookish we all get to look at a particular topic for discussion and use various (or more to the point ten) examples to demonstrate that particular topic. The topic this week is:
‘Top Ten 2015 Releases I Meant To Get To But Didn’t’
- Half the World by Joe Abercrombie
- Under My Skin by Zoe Markham
- The House of Shattered Wings by Aliette deBodard
- Without Light or Guide by Teresa Frohock
- The Crimson Corset by Alistair Cross
- Dark Ascension by M L Brennan
- Ink and Bone by Rachel Caine
- Grimm Mistresses
- A Darker Shade of Magic by V E Schwab
- The Darkest Part of the Forest by Holly Black
All of these books (except No.10 which was given to me) were bought and still not read! I haven’t counted how many books I bought last year but in actual fact looking back I got to very few of them as review books took precedence. I need to make an effort to read all the above for my backburn list over at Tenacious Reader. These are all great books – I just need somebody to realise we should have one or two more hours in each day, or come up with a time turny thing!
12 January 2016

Oh. Quite intriguing releases. Especially Under My Skin. It looks creepy!
It does look creepy – and I also have the author’s second book pre ordered so I really need to read this!
Lynn 😀
Woah! That’s great to know! 😀 Good luck! 🙂
Go read Ink and Bone RIGHT NOW! (I’ll wait;-)) No seriously, we had the same idea, all my books are also purchases. House of Shattered Wings was another one I just never got to but that was a review book so I didn’t put it on my list. Backlist Burndown, here we come!
I know – I really did have good intentions with that one. To be fair I managed to fit in Uprooted. I bought them both at the same time.
Lynn 😀
I agree! We all do need a time turner for a couple extra hours to read each day. 😉
A Darker Shade of Magic is one I was meaning to pick-up last year but never got around to. I’m going to try to get it sometime this year.
It sounds like such a good book and right up my street – I have to find the time this year.
Lynn 😀
Ink and Bone and A Darker Shade of Magic were both on my list this week too!
My TTT: https://jjbookblog.wordpress.com/2016/01/12/top-ten-tuesday-39/
They both look good and have had such great reviews – I really do have to read them soon!
Lynn 😀
I know what you mean about “the time turny thing”. Wouldn’t that be lovely? Especially for us bookworms.
It would be incredibly helpful indeed. Now, somebody with the relevant scientific know how just needs to get on and make one!
Lynn 😀
A Darker Shade of Magic…. *sigh* Another I really wanted to read and didn’t get to it.
Yep – that’s all of us this week!! Too sad seeing all these unread books.
Lynn 😀
I keep eyeing “Dark Ascension”, but I know that once I’ve read it there will be no more Generation V books, so… I wait a little while more. **sigh**
🙂
This is my feeling exactly!!
Lynn 😀
I just picked up a copy of Ink and Bone! And I definitely know what you mean. I have a stupid number of unread books!
Yeah, it’s silly – I need to stop being so daft headed! Still – it’s books!
Lynn 😀
Ahh well – if the book supply ever dries up – in some strange but true dystopian future we’ll at least have a few books to keep us going for a while!
Lynn 😀
It was the plan all along! I swear it!
Haha – yes, you say that now….
Oh crap! Without Light Or Guide should have been on my list! I read the first one, but haven’t gotten to the second yet. Of all the ones on your list I’ve read (which totals only 4), I highly recommend starting with Ink and Bone! 🙂
I know – everyone keeps telling me so I know I’m going to love it! Very soon.
Lynn 😀
Oh, I didn’t realize you hadn’t gotten to Dark Ascension yet. DO EEET, DO EEEET NOW! I want to know if you’ll cry like I did 😀
I’m in denial – I can’t believe there’s going to be no more so I’ve stuck my head in the sand instead! I’m sort of saving it up!
Lynn 😀
Ohh, I remember seeing you post about Ink and Bone 😛 Haha, and so soon, it has become 2016 and alas, not read!
So many unread books – I don’t know, it’s kind of disappointing but then you can’t possibly read them all.
Lynn 😀
