As part of Stainless Steel Droppings 2016 Sci Fi Experience which runs through 1st December to close of January (details here) I’m going to blog a quote (or two) from a different sci fi movie each day. See if you can guess the film. Yesterday’s film was Men in Black:
Today’s quotes (and I really DO expect everyone to know this one:
So… I blew myself up.

If the oxygenator breaks down, I’ll suffocate. If the water reclaimer breaks down, I’ll die of thirst. If the hab breaches, I’ll just kind of implode. If none of those things happen, I’ll eventually run out of food and starve to death. So, yeah. I’m fucked.

Mars will come to fear my botany powers.
THE MARTIAN!!! Great film!
I know – seriously, I think everyone will know this one. Such a recent book. 😀
I’m a film blogger so I have to represent! 😛 It was also a fantastic film!
Yeah, I agree – you definitely have to represent! and it was a great film (and book of course!)
Lynn 😀
I haven’t seen the film yet but I read the book and it’s awesome!
It is – I was hoping people would still be able to guess by the book because it’s so recent.
😀
The Martian! Great book and film
Agreed 😀
I’ve enjoyed following this series of posts. Nice work. 🙂
Thank you 😀
HA! I’ve neither read the book nor seen the film (I knoooow, I’m so behind!) but I still know that those quotes are from The Martian. 😉
Yay! I expect everyone will know this one. 😀
Good choice today!
Thanks – it’s a good one because so many of us have read the book and it’s still fresh.
Lynn 😀
I just bought this movie this week and I’ve been watching it nonstop! Like, three times already!
Haha – I’ve only seen it once. I thought it was a really good adaptation.
Lynn 😀
I still haven’t read or watched this! I do have the book though which I should really get round to soon.
I hope you enjoy both. I think you will.
Lynn 😀
Great movie, indeed, and a feast for the eyes: I loved how they created “Mars” from the savage beauty of that deserted landscape.
Yeah, they did a great job and it was a good adaptation. Probably on balance I preferred the book more but tbh that’s pretty much usually the case and I think the movie is a great visual feast so it’s good to have both experiences in this case.
Lynn 😀
