Waiting on Wednesday: Soulfinders

“Waiting On Wednesday” is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine.  Every Wednesday we get to highlight a book that we’re really looking forward to.  My book this week is No.2 in the Soulfinders series by Maria V Snyder:

Ever since being kidnapped from the Illiais Jungle as a child, Yelena Zaltana’s has been fraught with peril. But the recent loss of her Soulfinding abilities has endangered her more than ever before. As she desperately searches for a way to reclaim her magic, her enemies are closing in, and neither Ixia nor Sitia are safe for her anymore. Especially since the growing discord between the two countries and the possibility of a war threatens everything Yelena holds dear.

Valek is determined to protect Yelena, but he’s quickly running out of options. The Commander suspects that his loyalties are divided, and he’s been keeping secrets from Valek…secrets that put him, Yelena and all their friends in terrible danger. As they uncover the various layers of the Commander’s mysterious plans, they realize it’s far more sinister that they could have ever imagined.

Due for publication January 2016 – so not a long wait for more Yelena and Valek.

I love Maria V. Snyder, but I haven’t started this new series yet. Want!

I really enjoyed getting back to Yelena and Valek. Can’t wait for the next.

I read and enjoyed Shadow Study last January and eagerly await this one!

Ah, I had missed this one! Adding to Goodreads now 🙂

Yeah – I didn’t realise it was out so quickly so glad to have spotted it.

I need to get in on this series, I’ve been seeing this author and her books all around lately and I had no idea so many of the bloggers I know have read this! I feel like the only one who hasn’t 🙂

There are so many series out there – it’s simply impossible to keep on top of all of them – I still haven’t read any Bishop even though I’ve bought the first in the series.

I’ve so far behind in this study series! I do remember really really loving Poison Study a lot. I should get back on this series and continue. The cover of this one is gorgeousss!

I’ve dipped in and out with the series to be honest. I read the Study books and then a few others with a character called Opal (I think), I’d kind of stopped reading but picked up again for the most recent because it was a return to Yelena so I quite fancied seeing what she was up to.

Lynn – Oh! I didn’t know that the protagonist changes through the series! I don’t remember who Opal was…was she in Poison Study, too? I liked Yelena and Valek. I should probably re-read Poison Study first to refresh my memory before continuing on, haha

Yeah, the study books are Yelena and there are three of them. Then, I think it was the Glass books – can’t remember the names but the main protagonist I think was called Opal and she was able to craft glass that contained magic (sorry, that may be a tiny spoiler but not much I think).

Lynn – oh, okay good to know! Hmm…crafting glass that contains magic, sounds intriguing!
