A Dude doodle

Okay, I don’t draw but occasionally I doodle. This is my dog Dude. He’s a bit of a so and so. Mad as a box of frogs in fact – he buries things in corners of the house under imaginary leaves. He has mad half hour where he runs all over the house at top speed. He loves the hosepipe and sleeping on my daughter’s bed! As I highlighted him in green – he had to become an alien dog – in the background is his spaceship (not a flying fried egg!) You’ll all be pleased to know that I don’t doodle often….

Ack, he’s adorable! He sort of reminds me of the kind of dog Snowy is, from TinTin (I don’t know the breed!)
Yes, he’s very much like Snowy. Snowy is like a smallish Fox terrier, all white. Dude is a Lakeland terrier (they’re almost identical except he’s a sandy colour with a saddle). He is very cute but very naughty. Hides things, tries to escape and break free. Loves to sleep on beds – which is very bad!

I love your doodle! You should totally doodle more and link up on Thursdays. I post doodles every week. I feel like its a way to force myself to still enjoy my ‘other’ hobbies other than reading!
Actually, your doodle’s inspired me! But I couldn’t post this on your Thursday site because it’s not book/film related! I used to think I’d draw a Dude’ll every day! Give him a word for the day.
Your sketches are more than doodles though – and you’re right it is a good way to enjoy something else.

You know – I think I”ll probably change the rules and make it just any doodles LOL going to go over the feature rules for participation and update them!
No, don’t change the rules – it’s a really good weekly meme – and I like it that it makes you think about the book you’re reading or have read! I nearly posted this on your site and then thought it was just too big a cheat – I do like to cheat!

Haha it’s ok I was thinking of expanding the rules anyways. I’m putting out an announcement in my monthly wrap up tomorrow. Making it so people can participate via, twitter, instagram or their blog and opening it up to random art also

The rules have now been updated I’ll put out an announcement in tomorrow monthly wrap up as well as my next Fan Art Post – I’ve been thinking of changing the name of it too.
What do you think? I’m not sure I’m keen on “Fan Art Up!”
Haha, too late with my last comment. I like ‘Fan Art Up’. I don’t think I’d change it. I’ll have to doodle something now! It’s such a shame you know – all my family are artistic – except my dad, who is a big reader! So who do I take after – yep, no artistic talent to speak of – but, I do love books so it’s all good and I can talk to my dad about it which is also kind of special.

My sister is so crazy artistically talented. She can make anything! Sewing, sculpting, drawing. I wish I had one iota of her skill. At least she’s my sister so I get something cool for xmas every year! Or my birthday (never both really because I’m one of those unfortunates who’s born within a month of Xmas so everyone decides you get one present for both combined – who made this rule? Who screwed people born from Nov to Jan!?? I WANT TO KNOW so I can waft bad juju in their general direction lol j/k maybe.
Anyhow hooora I love that you’ll maybe doodle with me then. Yeah i’m going to keep the name I think it’s not so bad after all.
It’s a great name! Ditto my sister – it is a bit like living in a shadow – don’t get me wrong I love my sister – but she’s MUCH more artistic than me! However, she hates reading so go figure. I think you’re very talented – that’s actually why I didn’t put my daft doodle on your blog! I’m also an Xmas child – 9th December so basically i’ve grown up not thinking my birthday is a big deal as everyone is focused on Christmas by then – this isn’t to generate sympathy though – I love being a December child and in fact love the darker months of the year! I will doodle definitely – but they will be crap! LOL

I am a January baby! I also prefer the cold dark winter months! I used to be so jealous of my sister now I am just so proud of how amazing she is! You should see her dolls, I can’t believe she makes them by hand. I have made a few dolls but nowhere near her lifelike perfection.
I am so excited that you are going to doodle with me! Drawing is always more fun with other people to share with. Sometimes I feel like a little kid always wanting to show my husband “look what I drew today!”
He looks lovely! I think it’s a wonderful doodle.
(Of course, I manage to screw up stick figures, so you might want to take that with a grain of salt. I’m not sure. But he looks lovely to me all the same. ^_^)
