Friday Face Off: Snake-Eater by T Kingfisher

Today I’m returning to the Friday Face Off, originally created by Books by Proxy). I’ve missed these for the past few months and so would like to get back to comparing covers (and hopefully I will be updating this page with a new banner. This is an opportunity to look at a book of your choice and shine the spotlight on the covers. Of course this only works for those books that have alternative covers (although sometimes I use this to look at a series of books to choose a favourite). So, if you have a book that has alternative covers, highlight them and choose your favourite. If you’re taking part it would be great if you leave a comment/link so I can take a look at what you’ve chosen.
This week I’ve chosen a book that I’ve just read and loved. I hadn’t realised this had two covers so take a look. Snake-Eater by T Kingfisher:

My favourite:

Originally, I thought this was a very unusual cover but it’s really grown on me! And, it is very fitting for the story here.
Which is your favourite this week?

Agreed on this one – I do like the other cover as well, but it’s not doing anything particularly original.
Yeah, although that cover originally caught me off guard a little, if I was looking at both of these side by side in a bookshop I would have to pick up the first book just because!
Lynn 😀
I definitely prefer the pink and purple cover. Much more dynamic.
Yes, it’s eye catching for sure.
Lynn 😀
I love that one too. It definitely vibes with the story better.
Yes, the other cover would be something that normally appeals to me but I just prefer the vibe from the first.
Lynn 😀
Hmm…Both have good vibes, but the one you picked is a winner.
You would definitely be drawn to it
Lynn 😀
Im the odd one out in preferring the other cover 😂 from the reviews I’ve seen the one you’ve chosen seems to fit the book best and its certainly the more memorable of the two. I love the patterned skin of the snake on the other one though, its reminiscent of the kind of detailed cover I tend to love.
To be honest the other cover would normally be my ‘go to’ but that strange vibrant pink cover is so fitting for the story.
